Susan Mary Goodrich-Phillips

Susan Mary Goodrich-Phillips, 66, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 2, 2026, at Spring Valley Hospital (Las Vegas). Born on November 21, 1959, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Susan was the daughter of Robert John Goodrich and Eleanor Shaver Goodrich, and grew up alongside her two sisters.

Susan graduated from Taconic High School in Pittsfield, MA, in 1977, where she was a high school cheerleader and proudly cheered on her future husband, Dan. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minor in Art from Westfield State University in 1981, and later completed a Masters in Education through Grand Canyon University.

On March 19, 1988, Susan married Daniel George Phillips, her high school sweetheart. Throughout her life, she held various jobs in restaurants and banks before stepping into the work that would become her calling: in 1992, she became a Kindergarten teacher. Susan loved teaching young children and remained involved in some form of teaching until 2026. Wherever she taught, she formed genuine, lasting friendships—connections that reflected the steady warmth and care she brought to every community she joined.

Susan’s life in Las Vegas was shaped by the simple, enduring joys she cherished most. She was an avid reader and loved hiking and traveling. She delighted in shopping trips with her friends and sister, hosting dinner parties, and, above all, caring for her granddaughter, Alaina. The center of Susan’s life was her family; she treasured being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and gave that love freely and faithfully. She also adored her beloved cat, Trixie.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Phillips, and her daughter, Abigail Phillips. She is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Strimboulis, and her spouse, Ryan Strimboulis; her son, Benjamin Phillips; her granddaughter, Alaina Strimboulis; and her sisters, Ellen Goodrich and Marjorie Broda.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church, 4925 S Torrey Pines Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89118, on August 22, 2026, at 12:30 pm, with services concluding at 2:00 pm. A Reception will follow at Christ The King Catholic Church on August 22, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
