Born in Henderson, Nevada, on September 19, 1950, Tim was the youngest of four children born to Margaret and Hugh Manion. While he lived many places, he was proud to call Nevada home.
In his early school years, he attended parochial school and he worked to pay his own tuition at Bishop Gorman High School. There he excelled in football and track, and built friendships that lasted a lifetime. He went on to play football at the University of Nevada, Reno and later graduated from the University of Redlands with a degree in IT.
While sports and technology shaped his early years, his greatest passion was music. He picked up his first guitar at age eight and never stopped playing and performing in bands all across the Western states. True to his team-player roots, Tim always wanted to help others shine. Whether he was helping a fellow musician revive their career or guiding a young person to "play a song with him" while he played the challenging parts. Most recently he had the great opportunity to compose/score music for a locally produced independent filmmaker that is now being seen and heard around the world.
Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ellen, and his brother, Michael. He leaves behind a legacy of love and music, survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Marissa (Sean R.) and Sean (Nicole); his cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin, and Jameson; his brother, Dan Manion; and many "favorite" nieces and nephews. He will live on forever through his music, but he will be deeply and forever missed. A private service will be held at Palm Mortuary. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Life by Music, a local non-profit committed to positive change through customized music education programs, instrument donations and music scholarships for kids, teens and veterans
A Memorial Service will be held at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129, US, on July 19, 2026, at 10:00 am.
