

Tyler was born on April 29, 1998 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. His parents were Jimmy and Heidi. Tyler was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. All of Tyler's playful good humor carried over into his childhood. He took part in racing trophy karts. He was in wheelchair sports. In his spare time he liked fishing, shooting and racing. Tyler's memorable achievements included Paralympics and racing. Tyler enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Tyler liked creating and making things. His favorite pursuits were racing trophy karts, fishing and hunting. Tyler was content to enjoy his hobbies alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. Tyler's participation was greatly valued by the organizations to which he belonged. Tyler was an active member and was involved with the Paralympics Sport Las Vegas. Tyler was a lover of animals and cherished his pets, enjoying them almost as much as he enjoyed being around other people. Tyler loved his chickens Don Juan and Doofus and his dogs Willow, Bella, Mookie and Karma. His family was rounded out by his turtles, fish, lizards, tarantula and snake. Tyler passed away on May 15, 2014 at St Rose Dominican Sienna Campus Las Vegas, Nevada from complications due to Spina Bifida. He is survived by his father, step-mother, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and critters. Services were held at the LDS Church Monte Cristo Chapel. Tyler was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery Las Vegas, Nevada. Tyler brought joy to all of those around him. He never had a mean bone in his body. He loved to have a good time and was an eternal optimist, always looking on the bright side of things. He loved to share his energy, wit, and his zest for all of his activities with his friends and family. Tyler James Stephensen lived life to its fullest and made everyone around him happier just for knowing him. He will be remembered with a smile.
