Dear Dad,
Knowing that you are not with us anymore makes my heart shatter every time. You are always in my thoughts dad. Being your daughter is the greatest honor of my life. Thank you for always making us feel good and seeing the good in everything and everyone I love you so much, Dad.

Urban you have been my love my whole life. You were a great husband, father and friend I will miss you. There is a hole in my heart that can never be filled. I will miss your gentle strength, your compassion your presence. We were children and together we made it work, your love gave me strength. Your generosity will always be appreciated, your willingness to help, to make it right by doing the ethical thing, not the easy thing. You were amazing, always giving and if left unsupervised you would have given it all away. Always a poet and artist, an example of quiet courage.  When you graduated the academy you really believed you could make a change, and you did. You exemplified honor in everything you accomplished. An imprint was left on many hearts. You were loved my many who had the privilege to know you. The nature examples you used made me laugh, I will treasure these memories and many more. 


 Thank you for the best 60 years of my life, we had it all, it was fun. Call me when you get there!

Urban Urban

When I read these memories I am touched by the statement “gentle soul”.  Gentle, patient, loving, - really wanting the very best for everyone around him. He captured my sisters heart and they produced two extraordinary women and had a family bond that I envied, but was more than a part of anytime I would come by. 

You taught me the fine art and mastery of a sales call-and to always carry a roll of dimes. You showed me how to discipline my mind and body with early morning routines. We shared laughter and lobster and a mutual respect for all that each other had gone through just being a part of my family. 

There was no cruelty that you wouldn’t meet with that gentle soul and disposition of yours. The cruelty of this last bout did you in and I’m so happy I got to share time with you at the beach with Juli and the fam…and break bread with you for the last time. 

I know you loved me since you took me on your dates as a small child. I can hear you call me Susie with that playful tone full of love and a twinkle in your eye.

Thank you for taking care of my favorite sister and my precious nieces and making the world a better place for the time you were here. 

I hope I have half the heart you do-Godspeed my brother in law. You did good-evidenced by these warm condolences and memories of a life well lived. Say hi to Sherry for us! See you real soon!

Our hearts are very heavy at the loss of this wonderful man. We have been honored to have known him. This world has lost a gentle, soft spoken and artistic soul. We all will miss you our friend. Our condolences to  Mary Ann, Juli and family.

It's hurting having to say goodbye to a caring,friendly and gentle man. We will all miss him and we have to help eachother going thru this. We will look after Maryann. I am happy to have had the privilege to have known him. Rest in peace my friend. Flora Menzie

When i was as lifeless & fragile as this rosé you protected me from the wind.  You nourished me with love, kindness, patience & strength. You enabled me to continue to fight. When i had laid down my sword you shielded me.  When i laid down my heart you gave it back to me.  When i was tired, afraid & feeling alone you surrounded me with your courage. I will never forget what God has given me through all of you. I am blessed & humbled by your love. You have carried me through a long winter into the spring. Where i have a second chance to bloom.
