October 5, 1934 – April 21, 2017
With sadness, we announce the passing of Valeen Ann Murray, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Val, or Mamma, as she was known by all who knew her, will be greatly missed.
Val was the third of four children born to Joseph and Ona Goff in Salt Lake City. She attended South High School in Salt Lake City. She married Harold “Stein” on April 13, 1957.
Val was a resident of Las Vegas for 55 years, where her and her husband owned Harold’s Imported Parts.
Val had many talents and hobbies, like collecting antiques, but one in particular was her knack for gardening.
Above all else, Val’s devotion was to her family.
Val loved family gatherings and holidays when everyone would get together – and her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids always looked forward to going to Mamma’s house. She was always prepared with a sweet treat and a funny joke, song, or story for the kids. Everyone always left Mamma’s house with a smile.
Val was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities within the church. She enjoyed serving others and was quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Val is survived by her children Judy (Steve), of Logan, Utah; David, of Las Vegas; Doug (Carol), of Las Vegas; Annette (Monte), of Las Vegas; and Michael, of Las Vegas; brother, Alma Goff. Preceded in death by her husband Harold, son, Jeff Murray, grandson, Matthew Brown, and sisters, Bonnie Reber and Elaine Poulson.
