Valerie A Perez

Born on December 19, 1953, in Manhattan, New York, to Carmen and Mariano Aviles. Valerie carried with her the vibrant energy, resilience, and spirit that would come to define her life. She later made Las Vegas, Nevada her home, where she built a life rich with family, laughter, and lasting connections.

On January 6, 1972, Valerie married her beloved husband, Carlos Perez. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to partnership, devotion, and enduring love. Together they created a family that became Valerie’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Valerie was a woman of intelligence, determination, and grace. She earned both a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Education — achievements that reflected her dedication, curiosity, and lifelong love of learning.

She lived life fully and joyfully. Valerie found happiness in traveling, bowling, golfing, and embracing every opportunity to create memories with those she loved. Her presence filled every room with light. She was exuberant, loving, and kind — a woman whose laughter was contagious and whose heart was immeasurably generous.

Valerie’s love lives on through those who were blessed to call her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Carlos Perez; her children, Skye Curbelo-Wang (Eric) and Lorenzo Perez (Geneva); and her cherished grandchildren, Isabel Curbelo, Alex Wang, and Christopher and Charlotte Perez. She is also survived by her brother, Rod Aviles, and her sister, Angel Aviles. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Aviles.

Valerie will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely, the joy she shared so generously, and the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.

Her spirit remains in every laugh, every memory, and every moment of love she leaves behind.

Forever loved. Forever missed.

A Simple Gathering will be held at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, located at 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV, 89129, on February 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
