

Verne Leavitt Sittle, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born on June 8, 1927. At the age of 18, he chose to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy during WWII in 1945. After he received his honorable discharge from the U.S Navy, Verne enrolled Brigham Young University (BYU). He attended BYU from 1946 to 1950. Verne enjoyed fixing cars and televisions so much, that he and his brother open their own repair business. Verne was known as a thrifty man who loved to shoot the six wheel especially the fantastic on the Six wheel; but the pinnacle of happiness was his loving marriage to Betty Parham for over 50 years, and the fun-love he received from his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Sittle; brother, Wayne Sittle; two sisters, Norma Cox and Joanne Stockill. Verne is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Sittle; supportive children, Vernelle (Dave) Vale, Valerie Sittle (Darren), Vickie Doran, and Steven Smith; five grandchildren, Robert Jr., Kyle, Cooper, Ashley, and Courtney; nieces, nephews and his extended family. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 3rd from 9-11am. Funeral will follow and both will be held at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S Jones Blvd. His burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
