Vernon Koon Lee Ching passed away in Las Vegas on 16 March 2019. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 24 October 1931, Vernon “Pop” Ching loved The Lord, family and baseball. Coming from a large family with 5 siblings, Vernon learned the value of fairness and hard work early in life. Married to our mother, Delta for over 30 years and then Doris for another 24 years, Vernon helped raise three sons: Kenneth, Larry and Gregory. Pop was the Ching family patriarch for an additional 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Vernon served his nation for over 20 years retiring in the rank of Master Sergeant in the USAF. In 1992, he moved to Las Vegas and thoroughly lived a good life. He always enjoyed a game of “Rummy” and watching sports, especially baseball on TV. His ideal day would be waking with coffee, “SOS” and reading the newspaper; taking his Corgi, “Dee Dee” and Chihuahua, “Bo Bo” for a long walk and then capping the evening off barbecuing Teriyaki for family and his Boston Terrier “Molly,” while watching his beloved Cardinals Baseball Team. Pops was an extraordinary man, an inspiration to all who met him. His strength, love, compassion, character and spirit will always be with us. Goodbye Dad, Goodbye Pop, All Right Bye
Pop, Bow, Wow, Wow, ….
