Victoria (“Vicky”) Lynn Hardwick was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and fiancé. She left this world peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 64, and will be greatly missed. She had a sweet childlike innocence that endeared her to the hearts of all who met her.
She was born to Lawrence and Masako “Pat” Hardwick on June 28, 1959, at the U.S. Army Hospital in Fort Dix, New Jersey. After graduating from high school in Maple Shade, NJ, she moved with her parents to Las Vegas, NV in 1978. She loved her first job at a daycare center, taking care of the littlest babies. And her co-workers loved her, in turn, for her willingness to take the earliest shift, showing up to work at the crack of dawn. Vicky next worked as a stocker at the commissary on Nellis Air Force Base, where she met her future fiancé, Curtis Harven. She and Curtis enjoyed 20+ wonderful years together as soulmates.
The simplest pleasures of life brought a smile to Vicky’s face. She loved seeing the neighborhood cats and their kittens come by to drink from the water bowls she set out for them, as well as the colorful sunsets, fireworks, and all the beautiful downtown lights from her kitchen windows. She also enjoyed watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” with her mom in the evenings. But she was happiest when she was with her fiancé, Curtis, the one true love of her life. She was deeply spiritual and was a member of Grace Baptist Church until 2020, when she began attending Living Water Baptist Church with her mother.
Vicky is survived by her loving mother, Masako “Pat” Hardwick, brother, Russell Hardwick, sister, Elizabeth (James) Chase, niece, Melissa (Nathan Seither) Titus, and fiancé, Curtis Harven.
There will be no memorial service at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the cat rescue of your choice on her behalf.
