Memories of holidays and times spent with Uncle Vince and Aunt Anne are some of the best of my childhood. I was blessed with a week every summer at their house & I would spend weeks looking forward to it every year!!!

Vince made me feel so grown up & sophisticated - something every 13 year-old thrives for. Those Shirley Temples and fancy restaurants made me feel the world was my oyster. You see, Vince was worldly, exceedingly generous and happy to share with those he loved and those he barely knew. He was the best tipper ever & I've never forgotten how important it is to take care of those who serve.

A man of generous spirit, what I remember most is how much he cared about his fellow iron workers. He told my husband and I when visiting DC that he was determined to fight for contracts for the sake of every ironworker and their family. Compelled to protect them, we saw his professional passion at its peak.

It seemed no matter what he did, Uncle Vince was bigger than life and a true modern day Renaissance Man.... in a “no attitude” way. He hunted. He flew. He sailed. He traveled. He was extremely well-read. He shot for the stars and always landed his mark.

I am forever grateful for his influence and the footprint he left not only on my life, but on the lives of others. I love you, Uncle Vince. A bheith ag siochain 🙏

As his next of kin, our Mother (Sue Dell Ryan Thoman) would like to thank the many thoughtful and generous friends of her brother, Vincent Barrett Ryan, who expressed their sympathies with beautiful cards, flowers , thoughts and prayers. We are presently preparing an obituary to reflect Vince's rich and meaningful life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Echo Ryan, and will be buried next to his beloved wife, Ann Ryan. In the meantime please enjoy this picture of Vince and his sister Sue Dell, taken about five years ago.
