

Virginia "Ginger" Johnivan, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at home Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. Ginger was born in Charlotte, N.C., and grew up in Pensacola, Fla. She moved to Las Vegas in 1971. All of her free time was devoted to her loving husband, raising her three children, and enjoying her grandchildren. Ginger is survived by her husband, Harold, to whom she was married to for 39 years; children, Douglas Shawn (Kim) of Houston, Candy Estrada-Pena of Baltimore, and Melanie Severin of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Justin Taylor and Jordan Severin of Las Vegas, Jane Johnivan of Houston, and Tommy Estrada-Pena; brother and sisters, Thomas (Dondi) Bailey, Marlene Soto, Belinda Bell, Sandra (Eric) Berube, and Penny (Kenny) Mann, all of Florida. Ginger was preceded in death by her mother and father, Thomas and Ruby Bailey; and sister, Mary Mason, all of Florida. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 10, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. (N. Jones and I-215). Memorial services will be at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City.
