I married you 30 years ago, not because of your good looks, but because of your sense of humor. You always made me laugh. You loved golf, and being on the course with our son, Cam. was one of your favorite parts of your overall love of life!
Cam was the greatest gift you ever gave me. The deep bond you and Cam had, and just watching you together, brought me so much joy. And you never let Cam leave the house without kissing him on the cheek.
You adored your two cats, Zoe and Zac. You called Zoe, ‘your little girl,’ and Zac, ‘your big boy.’ They adored you too. You also had such great love for your cousins, nieces and nephew.
A few weeks before you passed, you sent me the song “I Won’t Let Go” by Rascal Flatts on my phone. Since you have passed, I’ve listened to it over and over and cried and cried.
Some of the most special lyrics include:
I will stand by you
I will help you through
When you've done all you can do
If you can't cope
I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
And I won't let go
It hurts my heart
To see you cry
I know it's dark
This part of life
Wayne, you told me every day how much you loved me and thanked me for keeping you alive. As the song said, I stood by you too, to help you through, dried your eyes, and held you tight, just like you did for me. I helped you fight your fight for the past six years, and I would do it all again.
Love,
Your Wifey
Dear Dad,
These last six years have been a lot on you and I’m so thankful that you fought this long through what you were going through. You are my best friend, my role model, father, and everything to me. We were so close, closer than a father and son can ever be. You showed me what fighting really is and what love is as well. I hope you’re resting now and in peace, and will always be looking over me through my life. I’ll live for you now.
Love you Dad,
Cameron
We are going to be celebrating your life at National Golf Course on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1:00-4:00.
