William “Bill” Roscoe Baker passed away Saturday June 16, 2018.
Born June 26, 1921 in Headland, Alabama. He was a devoted and loving husband to Mary who he often called his “señorita”. A loving father to his children, Bobby, Maryanne (Don), Evelyn, Steve and Patrick. Grandpa to his granddaughters Jennifer, Adrianne and Renee. “Pappy” to his great-grandchildren Cienna, Michael, Ivan, Madalynn, Gianna, Kalena and Gabriel.
Bill is survived by his brother A.J. (Linda) Baker of Dothan, Alabama, his nephew Greg Baker of Destin, Florida and niece Elva Ruth Jones of Columbus, Georgia.
As well as many other extended family members, especially his little girl “Sweet Rosie” who he always said to us all, she is his oldest daughter who always made him smile and always told him he was the “Best Pop”.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, John Aaron and Iris Mae Baker “MA” sisters Lou Evelyn Kilpatrick and Othell Baker, brothers Jesse, M.D. and John M. Baker, nephew Jeffery Baker and his “señorita” Mary Baker.
Bill was the kind of person who makes other people happy. He lived well and loved well, laughed long, loud and often and enjoyed life’s pleasures, big and small.
Bill would always say: “there’s nothing like a good Joke”…”And Laugh”!
“Enjoy life and you will live long. ” “I said dooo ….she”?
We all love you! You’re the Best “Old Goat”.
As per his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Special thanks to Bill’s favorite niece as he would call her, Margaret Quiller for her constant love and support, you always knew how to make him laugh. He loved your visits every time you came to Vegas, also thank you to Bill’s favorite nephew John Contreras for those quick trips to Vegas at a moment’s notice you’re the best, he loved joking and laughing with you nonstop. He could sit with you for hours. Last of all the biggest thanks to Pat, Bill’s youngest son for taking the best care any son could of his dad, you are the most unselfish person I know. Dad was lucky to have you.
I would like to acknowledge Golden Heart Senior Care, Christy Swadkins and Stefan, Advent Home Health, Kai RN, Jana O.T. & Arnel P.T. Affectionate Hospice Care, Noel Dumo and Mercy Labrado RN BSN and Lenni. Green Leaf Residential Care, a home for Individual Care, Honey RN & Rey, without all of you I would have never made it. You offered so much help & advice to Pat and I so we could give dad the best care possible. We are so grateful to all of you.
