

William “Bill” Verducci, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Dec 25, 2014. He was born Nov. 5, 1926 in Beckley, West Virginia. Bill joined the Military and served in World War II, and discharged as Staff Sargent. He attended Washington University of St Louis, Mo.. Bill Verducci became the general manager of the following Playboy Clubs: St. Louis, Los Angeles, and San Francisco for over 6 years. He came to Las Vegas in 1977 to open the Maxim Hotel, later to join the Flamingo Hilton as Food and Beverage Director. In 1984 he opened up “Verducci’s Deli”. In 1988 he joined the Riviera Hotel as Assistant Purchasing Director for over 20 years. Bill was a devoted Catholic. He served as an usher for 35 years, 20 of those at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9102. Once retired he became a Minister of Holy Communion, which he served bedridden Catholics at UMC Hospital once a week. Bill was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend. He is survived by his daughter, two grandchildren, and two Nephews. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
