

Yvette Lainez Slopast, age 61, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Yvette was born on November 10, 1963 in the Philippines to parents Gabriel Santos Lainez, Jr. and Lilia Bañas Lainez.
Yvette is remembered by family friends for her bubbly, loving and caring personality. She was very intelligent and hard-working woman. She loved taking care of those around her and was always willing to sacrifice for them. She cared so much for other people, making sure everyone had presents and company during the holidays. She always sent those around her cards for special occasions. She was an excellent wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend.
Her hobbies included cooking. She was an excellent cook and notably made delicious Thai food. She loved going out to eat with her family and friends. Yvette was a very talented artist. She was an excellent painter and drawer. Her art skills also translated into her eye for interior design. She was also a fantastic shopper, known by those around her as a “shopaholic” who could always find great deals.
Yvette was raised Catholic and kept her faith through her life. She was a member for a nightly prayer group and recited the Rosary daily.
Yvette is preceded in passing by her husband of thirteen years, Andy Slopast; her loving mother, Lilia Bañas Lainez; several aunts and uncles; and her grandparents.
Yvette is survived by her daughter, Abigail Lainez Slopast; father, Gabriel Santos Lainez, Jr.; siblings, Juditte Lainez (Moises) Asuncion, Gabriel Bañas (Tereng) Lainez III, Dessi Bañas (Ruby) Lainez, and Joseph Bañas (Anne) Lainez; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Vera Judice.
A funeral mass for Yvette will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 7260 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89117.
