Sending condolences to all who knew and loved Yvonne! Goodbye my sweet friend, I will love you forever. Thank you for taking my daughter under your wing. Providing her with an amazing English education.  Sassy and off the charts smart you were!  The first time I met you in after care you told me "If you want your daughter to excel and succeed in English, get her in my class!" I took your advice and your impact could not be measured!  We still have an award on our fridge you gave Keelyn. The thing is, your heart was full of abundance for teaching children, racial equality and representation, under represented groups, your friends and family, and just all things good and loving plus so much more! Your impact on children was transformative. You were so proud to announce Keelyn's 8th grade graduation.  You did so for countless children.  You told me after the 8th grade field trip that my daughter was so kind. That was a gift, because you always hope you're doing your best raising them. Thank you for all you did for our family.  For the bestie friendship. Listening to countless hours of drama and happiness.  All the Cheesecake Factory brunches and the lovely French bistro visits. Tutoring Keelyn on her high school project. Cheering us on. Hoping and praying for the best for us always. Thrift store shopping.  Making my birthday special.  I could go on and on. I will love you always and forever.  Sweet friend, I wish you an eternity filled with peace and happiness!  I love you with all that I am. Thank you God for the gift of Yvonne Alley.  Your name is a blessing to many!

Sam and I are similar in many ways, and Alley knew this. She knew our dreams, struggles, and goals. She always pushed us to reach for everything we wanted to do, and helped us in every way she could. She’s family to all of us.
Alley was one of the first people around me who encouraged me to explore and understand what I wanted to do. She gave me both academic and personal guidance throughout many years, and I know I wouldn’t be the same person if I had not met her. She was one of the first people to not judge my interests or expressions.  Alley was a wonderful person with a plethora of wisdom.  Above all else, Alley was the best teacher that I could have, and have ever had.

Ms Alley wanted to go to lunch with us, and refused to let us pay anything at all, no matter how much we said otherwise. She recounted how her new school was treating her, how well it was going. All she could talk about is what she saw in her new kids, and how she could navigate the new school to best benefit them. Her generosity and care for others in her community will always stick with my memory of her.

Having thanksgiving at the Kuspers was a joy, and an event I was lucky to be a part of. One of the many moments I know I won’t forget with her and my friends.

Yvonne and us at Madame Tussaud’s back in the 00’s.  She was honest and supportive.   She loved to travel and truly experience life; going to India and Greece solo!  She was kind to my family. She was a real friend and a good neighbor in every way.   My partner and I are blessed to have known her.

I have know Yvonne for 35 years.  She was the woman I thought my son would marry.  When that didn't happen, we remained friends.  Yvonne was brash and beautiful; an intrepid traveler; a sentimental friend; a great book buddy; and cat fancier.  She enriched my life and I will miss her greatly.  Sincere condolences to her family and many friends and students.

Yvonne came into my life as my daughter's English teacher and while she helped my daughter ease into the nuances of middle school literature and language, she simultaneously nourished her hurting soul that had processed immense family trauma over the previous 2 years. That love swiftly gathered me up as well, and I found in Yvonne a friend who filled a gaping hole in my heart. We feasted over greek food while working through her divorce paperwork (if 2 English educators can't figure out legalese, no one can!) and she held my hand through my own messy divorce and ensuing depression. It was truly an honor to have walked beside Yvonne and had her walk beside me for the 3 years I lived in Nevada. I've never met anyone like her: so deeply humanistic and holistic an educator, so fiercely and passionately a friend. Rest finally, in peace, love, and joy, Yvonne. You'll be in our grateful hearts forever.

Her presence at this milestone event was a hallmark of her support and love for her students at every stage of their middle-school adventures.

I miss our talks and our texts each day. The friendship we shared was a special one and it’s so hard to realize still that you’re gone. But I know that you’d want all of us to be strong, and focus on making the world a better place. I will cherish our moments together and the times we had. You lived your life to the fullest and were so instrumental  and loved by many. I was honored to be friend and blessed to have you in my life. Mrs.Sandy, know that your daughter was a gem to many and our warm memories of her will last forever.

My heart goes out to family.  I have been Yvonne's neighbor for over 25 years.  I am grieved she is gone and cannot imagine what her loved ones are going through.  

Yvonne was a WONDERFUL neighbor and friend.  We watched each other's homes, pets and enjoyed dinner and hung out.  We each had keys to each other's homes just in case.  I will miss her humor, no BS advice and her LAUGH!

Heaven is singing your praises as the book of works is full of the good things that you have done. You are missed here. However, you are where you’re supposed to be. The person who you were will live with us forever.

Ms. Alley welcomed me back when I was a new teacher. She had varied seating for the students and kept the class lively.  My condolences to the family. Ms. Alley is remembered by many here at Sandy Ridge.
