

Zel was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Doris and Lewellyn Dye Sr.; and her brothers, Lewellyn Dye Jr., Gregory Laddler, and Lawrence Jenkins.
Her legacy lives on through her loving son, Brian Watson; grandson, Tejon Watson; brother, Michael Dye; sister, Sharon Kelly; sister-in-law, Brenda Jenkins; nephews, Sean Kelly, Cory Dye, Larry Jenkins Jr., and Melvin Dye; nieces, Keshia Dye, Michelle Dye, and Audja Jenkins; and a host of cousins and friends.
Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, Zelender attended elementary, junior high, and senior high school there. In 1978, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. Raised in a Christian home, she joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1984, where her mother was also a member. Zelender was known for her strong work ethic throughout her careers with Centel, Clark County Social Services, and Nevada Energy—a trait she passed down to her son, Brian.
Zelender lived a full life defined by grace, fierce loyalty, and boundless generosity. She found immense joy in cooking, entertaining, watching sports, reading, taking weekend trips, and spending time with family and friends.
Zelender’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of strength, love, and generosity will continue to live on through her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, US, on September 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
