Byron Leon Bristol

The family of Byron “Leon” Bristol rejoices in his reunion to his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his loving wife of 43 years, Grace Verle (Baird) Bristol. Leon passed away peacefully after visitation by his children on his birthday, August 17th, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Sammy Byron Bristol and Denise (Bristol) Creech; his grandchildren: Meagan (Creech) Dowdin and Amanda Grace Creech; and his great-grandchildren: Sophia Layne Dowdin and Emma Riley Dowdin.

Leon was predeceased by his wife, Grace Verle (Baird) Bristol; sisters Nellie Grace Norman, Edith Louise Grantham, and Annie Lucille Bradberry; and infant brother: Clarence Bristol. He was well loved by his parents, Byron Burr Bristol and Annie Belle (McElroy) Bristol.

Born in East Point, Georgia, Leon held residence in Doraville, Georgia for 67 years until his passing. He was devotedly employed with Gaylord Container Corporation for 48 years until his retirement at the age of 66. Leon loved woodworking, arts & crafts, and spending time with his family.

An intimate graveside service was held on August 21st, 2020 at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Due to the current health crisis, a larger celebration of his long life will be organized at a later date.
