Clancey retired from Hollis Cobb & Associates and continued to work part-time at Stone Mountain until he was 81 years old. He was a beloved coach of golf, football, baseball, and softball,
and enjoyed spending time with his family, his dachshunds, watching country westerns and traveling.
Clancey is preceded in death by his mother Frances Cleo Burrell Lawhorn, father James Watson Burrell, wife Ann Bridgers Burrell, and sister Margaret and brother Bobby.
He is survived by his children Clancey Scott Burrell of Loganville, GA, James H. Burrell of Jonesboro, GA, Leah Burrell Wyatt of Locust Grove, GA, Ken (Wendy) Bridgers of Riceville, TN, James (Jamie) Bridgers of KS, Grand-children Franklin A. Fritts, Barbara Bridgers, Michael Bridgers, Bethany Ann (Brandon) Bridgers Knight, Rachel Wyatt, Gabrielle Bridgers , Russell and Madison Bridgers along with 9 great grand children.
Clancey will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery date to be determined.
