

Damara Michele Turner earned her angel wings on April 18, 2021. She was born on May 28, 1983, in Newburgh, New York and attended Sacred Heart School from kindergarten to 3rd grade. Then, moving on to attend the Newburgh City Enlarged School District until 10th grade. After migrating to Georgia with her parents and two sisters, making it her home, she finished her last two years of school attending Meadowcreek High School and graduating in 2002.
Damara spent her time advocating for the awareness of Sickle Cell and sharing knowledge with others on how to better manage and live with the disease by being a part of groups within online communities. She was a lover of people and embraced them unconditionally. She enjoyed being outdoors in the sun, watching horror films, singing, and dancing to Michael Jackson. Damara spent her last four years being a phenomenal mother to her son Laith.
She leaves behind her son Laith J. Turner-Shaw of Lilburn, Georgia, two sisters Danita M. Turner of High Point, North Carolina, and Jade E. Turner of Lilburn, Georgia, mother Jeanette (Annie) Turner and father Robert D. Turner III of Lilburn, Georgia and her great aunt Mattie Kate Showers of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of aunts, cousins and friends.
