Dorothy Nell Sullivan passed away peacefully on November 10, 2020 in her son’s home. She was born on October 7, 1939 in California. Her father’s job with Lockheed soon brought her to Georgia where she quickly picked up on the charm of the south. She was a southern woman that had a fire in her soul that made her unstoppable. She made her own path, worked hard at every stop, and brought southern charm wherever she was – including her time living in New Jersey. She was a fighter – having beat two different cancers, and although breast cancer is what eventually took her from us, she fought it until she couldn’t anymore. She had a beautiful way of making things from her hands and loved doing so until she no longer could.
Though her family and friends miss her with every moment that passes, we can see her in all of our lives. She is seen in the smile and that same charm in her son, Michael. She can be seen in the warm hospitality of her daughter-in-law Renea. She is seen in the things that her granddaughter, Erika, builds and decorates with…always making it her own. She can be seen in the way her great granddaughters fiercely and bravely run into this world and make their own path. She can be seen in the way her niece, Terri, forges and blazes ahead. A part of her is forever with each one of us.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Renea); granddaughter Erika (Zack); great granddaughters Adeline and Raelynn; son, David; and niece, Terri. She is predeceased by her son, Joey and sister, Josie “Jorie”. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to Breast Cancer Research.
