Almighty God and all-wise Father, I thank you for the good wife you gave to me. She was a virtuous woman indeed and a precious gift from You. 
Your word encourages us to give thanks in all things, so we give thanks for her successful transition to her place of rest and her eternal reward for faithful service.

My humble, caring, and faithful wife and dearly beloved mommy, I congratulate you for the courageous good fight of faith, which has ended in this glorious exit. I am confident that you are resting in the bosom of your Lord, and in your mansions bright.

Beloved, you were a caring mother to the family and the secret of our success in the family. If I had to (though now impossible), I would choose you over and over again to be my help meet. You are so dear to me and the children, and our relationship is unforgettable. We love you, but God loves you more, much more than we could ever comprehend. 

It is an irreparable loss for us. You are irreplaceable, but we know that our loving Father will give us fortitude to bear it. It was a long drawn battle and trial of faith, but we rejoice that by the grace of God, you have triumphed. And we are assured that by the same grace, we will meet together at the feet of the master in our glorious bodies. And the enemy loses again.

Good night, my beloved wife, friend, mother, and sister, until we meet to part no more. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace in the name of Jesus. Rest on, mommy. Bye ooo

A LIFE WELL-LIVED.

The value of someone’s life is not measured by the number of years, wealth amassed nor other great earthly achievements, but by its impact on others. The life of a man is so short yet filled with constant battles between two contrasting sides: be it good and evil, health and ill-health, love and hatred or even life and death. But whichever side won can only be determined by those observing.

Dearest mother, you fought a good fight, you defeated many odds, you kept a great spirit. Though our hearts are still heavy, and our eyes filled with tears, though it seems that death really won by taking you away from us, but love won. Love has won because it is with smiles of joy we remember your jokes, comments, the life you lived with us, and most especially that you are in Heaven.

Dearest mother, though the pain of your death is more now and as days turns to weeks, and weeks to months and years, the hurt and pain we feel, will fade, but your memory will forever be remembered. As we journey through life and its huddles, we would remember your advice, and many instances will prompt us on thinking about what you would say or do, and we would always smile as we bask in our imagination. We know your now in a better place, where there is no pain, ache but only gain. 

You embodied the life of a Christian. You always talked about faith and holding on to Christ our rock and salvation, and in the face of death, your faith never withered nor fought with fear, but you shimmered with confidence of entrance into the heavenly bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even in your last few days, that we shared with you, you reminded us of our true and real home “Heaven” and you said in those soft chilly voice, “I want to go to my real home” You sojourned on earth; you made impact on earth and left the shores to eternity gracefully. 

As hard as it is to say goodbye, we truly submit to the will of God to take you home much earlier than we anticipated. Goodbye Mother We love you!

A MUM IRREPLACEABLE:

Sweet mother, I no go forget you. You carried me for 9 months, and you continued to carry me every day until the end. Even during your last days, you were still looking out for me, telling me to take care, asking the others to pray for me. 

You gave me my first breath, my first meal, my first drink, my first many things. You taught me the fear of God, showed me how to love without drama, pursue peace with dignity, and live simply and authentically. You were a role model and a steadfast pillar of support. You were an amazing woman  - mighty in words and in deeds. Indeed, words fail me. 

I didn't choose you but I'm glad I got you, and if I did have to choose, I would choose you without a thought. Thank you for everything. Memories are all I have left now, and I will ever cherish them and carry you in my heart. Rest now, momsie. I will see you again.

ELEGY OF AN ENDURING BOND:
Dearest mother,
I have so much to tell you now but you won't read them in this sheet. So, I am hoping that in heaven you hear the words far better than I can express them. You were everything to me; comfort, guide, teacher, and hero. I would bring friends who needed help home and you would help them, treating everyone like your very own. 

There are things we cannot question. Thoughts we cannot project. So, I would simply take solace first in God’s love and in the memories that we shared.

The tapestry of our connection was woven with threads of unspoken words. The  symphony of our hearts resonated in the sacred spaces between us. Our daily conversations kept my spirit afloat. They were a sanctuary where laughter, stories, and shared dreams flourished. You were not just a mother, but a confidant whose understanding transcended mere words.

But then, as if the stars themselves had dimmed, your voice grew softer, then silent. The void that consumed our conversations feels like an eclipse, casting shadows over the light of our bond. Your choice to forsake sustenance was a language only the heart could interpret – a silent scream against the constraints of mortality. This deafening silence that is lingering in my heart.

In the crescendo of your journey, your tenacity became a symphony of its own. The enigma of your departure leads me to contemplate the intricacies of life, love, and the fragility of the human experience. A reason why we anchor our hope on Christ Himself as the foundation and the core of our existence.

Your legacy, dear mother, is etched in my tears The emotional depth of our connection, the intellectual vistas you exposed me to, and the unwavering love that flowed between us – these are the treasures I hold dear.

In the symposium of life, your presence was a masterpiece. And though you've departed, your memory lives on, a sonnet of love, a narrative of strength, and an opus of the human spirit's indomitable will.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY DEAR MOTHER:
Seeing you passing that afternoon without being able to stop death hurt me more than anything. We did all we could to keep you here with us, but God knows best and loves you more. I'll do all I can to ensure we meet again in heaven someday.

At a younger age, I remember most times I entered your room, seeing you and dad studying your bibles and writing those lesson notes. It made me think I needed to get serious with my life. This showed how much you influenced your kids in the way of the Lord and to put passion in their work. Thanks for transferring your beautiful handwriting to us. 

I will never forget your Banga and Ogbono soup which always did "rattle my brain". Helping you out in the kitchen was maybe not fun then but now good memories. At the hospital while you were sick,  I tried to cheer you up while caring for you. You said, "This my pikin that makes me laugh the most" (especially when talking about Theodore). I also remember you said  "You were the biggest in my womb and troubled me the most in pregnancy". These fond memories I'll keep.

You called me into your room one faithful morning and said it was time for me to travel to Canada and not delay in the land of "XXX". You said you believed I could pave the way. When men said No, God made a way. The singular act of faith in moving to the unknown has changed my life the better forever. I couldn't have wished for a better Mother. You were meant for me and all of us. I loved, will love and miss you till we meet again.

TO A MUM LIKE NONE OTHER:

She calls me “IBK for Canada”. Mummy, I am truly saddened to know that I would not hear those words from your voice anymore. 

You always put God at the fore front of everything. “Have u prayed about it?” was your response, no matter what the situation was . You were a very strong woman, a disciplinarian to the core, very positive, resilient, a lover of God and her family(nuclear and extended). 

You built the foundation and not only taught but showed us all we need to live righteously, and meet you up there on the resurrection morning. That is the hope we have that we will see you again. We wanted more time with you but God, who knows what’s better, has called you home to Heaven! You will be greatly missed, Rest well Mum

As a young child, I looked up to you for all my basic needs; food, water, clothing, protection, love, encouragement & support. You met these needs effortlessly, always putting the needs of me and my siblings before yours. You were a great nurturer. 

As a teenager, in search of my identity, I wasn’t always cooperative, and although we didn’t always see eye to eye on every matter, you were never afraid to correct me and made sure I was straight. You didn’t leave anything to chance. You were patient and present As an adult, you encouraged me to go after all my dreams, you told me stories of your successes and your setbacks, so I didn’t have to make the same mistakes you made. You stood by me as I made tough decisions. You believed in me and motivated me to be ambitious. You were a great coach. 

Even in your last few months when you were very sick, I watched as you modeled strength and an indomitable spirit. You were pressed on every side by sickness but you were not crushed, the life of Jesus was evident in your dying body, and I remember some of your last words with your weak hands lifted up were “let’s keep giving him thanks”. You were a firm believer till the end. 

Your life has impacted me greatly, and has made a footprint in the sand of time. I pray that everyone who reads about your life will be firm in their faith, and strong in the face of opposition and challenges. Your legacy remains… I’ll miss you mama. Love,

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED SISTER/MOTHER:

It was hard for me to believe that your call to the heavenly home had taken place. You've been a mother to all of us, you played the role of a mother to me when our mother departed to the great beyond, you've been there for me at all time. You're an epitome of motherhood in every practical sense possible, the values and virtues of the virtuous woman extolled in proverbs31.You've been a pillar of support and of joy to our family(Osikwaya). 

You made our house a home and your motherly heart made you a mother to many and a succorer to those in need. You fought a good fight and won the race. I'm in pains by your sudden departure, I take solace in the fact that you have gone to be with the Lord. 

You finished strong, at last you're in that beautiful mansions you long passionately strove for; no more pains of illness, no sorrow, no weeping and home sick but now in the bosom of our Heavenly Father. You left a legacy that will be felt by many. Rest in peace, rest on. Goodnight

My dearly beloved big mummy, the news of your death came as a shock to me. I say this because I wasn't expecting it at all. I fasted and prayed, I also did midnight prayers so many times. The more reason I said I didn't expect it. You've been good to me Beatrice, and all your sisters and brothers(family as a whole). Mummy, you loved, cared, counselled and encouraged all of us. Your memory can never depart from me. 

As our mummy, you were a pillar to our family, a courageous woman, a strong support to all of us, so peaceful, respectful, prayerful and you always read your Bible. Dear Mummy.

Thank you for the unrelenting love and  hearty prayers that you and daddy continuously have outpoured on me. Thank you for the godly legacy you have gifted me and 5 other lucky ones integrated into the Akinmade family by marriage. A family where the sacrifice of love runs both deep and wide! 

Our family bonds have been strengthened through the trials of our faith. While we miss you big time, we choose to rejoice with you and the heavenly host for the full joy you are now experiencing.

Thank you for being graceful as you transitioned to your “real home”. You are missed everyday but as your granddaughter Lisa said, heaven is indeed your happy place so we join heavenly hosts to celebrate your life today!

Dear mummy, 

You were a sweet mother, filled with grace and warmth. I will remember, even when you had your health challenges, you would call almost every single day before and when Theo was born to check on our well being. You took me like a daughter and it breaks my heart that we did not have more time together on this earth. I looked forward to eating your delicious Banga soup that my dad, uncle and aunty really enjoyed each time you prepared it.  

You have left a great legacy behind. Thank you for being an example of a godly woman. We miss you, but Heaven has gained a Saint and we rest in that knowledge. Rest on mummy.

Mummy you have been a source of strength to me and my wife, your words of encouragement and prayers will be greatly missed. You were always cheering us on, making us laugh, and motivating us to face life challenges with absolute faith in God.  
You kept reminding us to always believe in God and to rely on him for everything.

Your prayer life together with Daddy is a model me and my wife will continue to emulate. As I reminisce on the times you usually call on the phone to check our welfare I can almost hear you say Dr Jay !!  as you fondly called me. 

Mummy you will be greatly missed, but we know of a surety through your life and testimony that you have gone home to join the brethren to praise God as you requested at the last few days in this world. 

Keep on singing with the brethren and the angels, praising God till we meet again on the resurrection morn.

The love between you and GrandPa and the quality of upbringing  you gave to Shola and his siblings is a testimony to your commitment to family values.

We will miss you so much Grandma, we will miss your special banga soup which we all used to look forward to eating whenever we visited you. We will miss  your motherly touch and your other great attributes.

Life is a mystery, like a standing tree that could be blown down by a whirlwind. Life is like a vapor that can disappear with the thin air within a twinkle of an eye. Our faith in Christ is the only golden substance we have down here.

Mummy Joshua, the Lord brought us together through His divine design and we cherished the pure love and godly relationship we enjoyed together. How could we have known that the last visit we made to Ikorodu to see you and Daddy before your travel would be the last fellowship we enjoyed with you on earth. Well, to Him be all the glory. Our loss here is Heaven’s gain. We have the joy and assurance that you ended your journey well and are now anchored in the arm of our Savior and Lord Jesus.

A Loving Tribute to My Sister and Sister in the Lord, a True Child of God

In the journey of life, some souls shine brighter, love deeper, and exude a faith that is palpable - my Sister Elizabeth was one of these rare souls. A steadfast Child of God, who moved through this world with a grace and kindness that reflected the love of the Savior she so earnestly followed. 

Every encounter with her was a touch of Heaven; she lived the Gospel in every gesture, every word, every deed.

Even as she crossed into God’s eternal embrace, she exhibited the calm and peace that only a deep and intimate relationship with the Lord can grant. She welcomed her Heavenly homecoming not with fear, but with the gentle grace that characterized her life on Earth.

As we grieve, we are also filled with a profound sense of gratitude. We had the privilege of witnessing a true example of Christ's love and light through the life of our beloved Sister. 

Let us strive to continue the legacy of faith, love, and unwavering trust in God she left behind—a legacy that, we believe, is now being richly rewarded in the presence of our Lord.

While you were alive, you taught me many things. You taught me how to love. You taught me how to live life to the fullest. 

Thank you for always guiding and loving me even though you're no longer here, I can still feel your presence. We love you but God loves you more. Rest in perfect peace.

We received the news of your death with great shock!
As young children, we grew up to know the love and care of your family as an extension of our Mum’s family. Your family provided great succour and strength to our family through moments of distress and supported our mother while making major decisions that affected our well-being.

In the early 80’s, with our mother in the role of a single parent with five children at the time, there were difficult moments of ill-health, periods of lack of provision for sustenance, and the need for prayers and spiritual support. Your large heart made your home a rallying point for all of us. 
Our mother often came to you and Daddy, whom we grew up to see as our mother's older brother, and she refers to as my brother, Pastor Stephen.

You were often part of our joys and family milestones and especially made sundry contributions to the children's education, both in cash and kind. As a teacher at Government College Ughelli, all of the four older boys were under your watchful and loving eyes. Even the youngest, Timothy, was a beneficiary of opportunities that were otherwise reserved for Shell employees because of your kind heart, love, and wisdom.

As a godly woman, you extolled such great virtues of contentment and brotherly kindness to all you came in contact with. You modeled great love for the flock of God. Your commitment endeared everyone around you to know the love and care of Jesus.

You were indeed a great mother and teacher to all your six children, siblings, and relatives.You were such a blessed wife to your husband, Pastor Stephen Akinmade, who indeed has been a servant of our Lord Jesus and a great laborer in His vineyard. 

As you have transitioned to join the Saints Triumphant, we trust God to keep your beloved husband and children strong in the love of Jesus and to remain in the hope of life beyond death. 
May your children enter into all your labors for the people of God.

Tribute to my big mummy

Hearing of mummy's demise still remain a dream I wish I could weak up from. She was the first I ever grew up to know as my big mummy. An intelligent woman with so much love, deep care, selfless kindness, sincere concern, a great giver amongst others.
Her warmth and caring nature to all, especially children of which I'm one of, is second to none. Oh, I could still hear the echo of her voice and the way she speaks. I miss you so much. All I have now are the sweet memories of you.

Amongst all, assuredly she was and is Jesus own daughter, little wonder our love could not hold her back from Him. 
We love you so much mum, but God loves you more. You've left a space in our heart, your life truly has inspired us and we will not forget the footprints you left in our heart in the sand of time. 
It's comforting to know that you're with the Lord, resting in His bosom and in the mansion He has prepared for you. Till we meet to part no more, I love you forever.

To my dearest neighbors, turned friends, turned family. My deepest condolences for the loss of our dear granny who spent the summer with us just a year ago in high spirits. Her smile would light up the room and the sheer comfort of her being there would just command peace to the atmosphere. Never met mummy in person but her amazing children I know are proof of what a wonderful woman she must have been. In a world where counting your children never seems quite accurate, your embrace expanded beyond mere numbers. You embraced not just those who shared your blood but countless others, weaving their lives into yours. You taught and nurtured not with words alone, but with a voice that held magic and eyes that imparted lessons beyond measure.

The memories are vivid, like the last time we met in October 2021, sitting together in that familiar Lagos house. Your queries about the passage of years and the progress of my journey linger in my mind. Your concern was never just skin-deep; you delved into the depths of my aspirations and the distances I was willing to traverse.

So mum, at this seminal moment when the heart aches and the eyes are filled with years, memories are coming afresh and the juxtaposition of great memories and the pain of loss is redefining the scope of existence

Can we say like Goldilocks, this is just right? Can we question? Or should we simply say Que Sera Sera? I remember when you told me to come live in the house for a while till I figured out how to put my thoughts straight. Whatever I am today I owe it to God but you were the first Jesus I knew and the Jesus who helped me got here.

Though you may be physically absent, the love and guidance you shared remain etched in my heart. Your absence is a profound ache, but the memories we've woven together continue to bring comfort and warmth to my soul. I miss you more than words could ever convey. I will miss your voice, when you won't call. I'll miss sending you birthday messages. I'll miss you, I truly now do miss you.

My dearest big mum, you are the best big mum anyone could ever wish for, your demise is a great loss for us. You were  kind, loving, strong, genuine, disciplined, honest and blunt. I still can't find the right words to completely describe who you were. You invested in the lives of everyone around you, just to make sure they live a better life, you served God and humanity faithfully, thanks for living the good life mum.
Big mummy, when I thought you will be present at my graduation but death has taken away that precious opportunity from me. It is so painful that death took you away from this earth but never conquered you. 
I will never forget your words of encouragement in my discouraging moments, I will not forget the way you called my complete names every morning when I was with you, memories shared with you will be hardly forgotten; tears rolled off our eyes when you left us behind but we are sure that nothing can touch you again because our  consolation is that, you are now resting at the Lord's bossom, I love you dearest big mum, it's hard to say GOODNIGHT big mum, we shall meet again in the resurrection morning.

Your death came to us as a shock. We did not expect it will be so soon. But thank God we have not lost you, you have gone to be with Lord. You lived an exemplary godly life for us to follow during your life time. Ever smiling and caring woman. Rest on in the blossom of the Lord mummy.

Oh dear daughter of Christ, beloved sister Elizabeth Akimade, your sudden departure to glory came when we never expected it. This confirms the words of our Savior & Lord Jesus Christ, that no one, even the angels, knows the day & the hour when He returns to take His people away from this untoward generation. That we should, therefore, watch & pray (Mark 13 vs 32,33,35 &37).
No doubt you took the words of Christ to heart in the way you committed yourself to Christ's cause. You were always there in the front line fighting for "The Faith once delivered unto the saints" (Jude v3). The way you stood solidly behind your beloved husband - Pst Stephen Akimade - in his ministerial assignments was legendary. Your total yieldedness to the word of God in all matters of life helped in nuturing all your children to follow the faith of their parents, as it's evident in their lives & conduct today. Oh dear sister Akimade, we had wished you're still with us radiating that beautiful smile when exchanging pleasantries. You never missed fellow meetings on flimsy excuses as some people do sometimes. You were a true daughter of Christ. No wonder it has pleased Him that you make it home earlier than all our calculations. So we surrender to His will & know for sure, by His grace, that we shall meet again on the resurrection morning. Adieu beloved sister Elizabeth Akimade.

In Loving Memory of an Exceptional Mother. 
Mummy Joe, as i fondly called her stood as a guiding mother figure throughout my formative years. She embodied both strict discipline and a shining role model which reflected her deep connection with God. Her faithfulness in serving God set an indelible example, compelling her family to tread the same path.

In her final days she resolutely expressed her yearning to return "home." This heartfelt desire painted a beautiful finale to her story, a testament to her unshakable faith.

"Your battle has been valiant, your race now complete." May we also keep the faith so we can see again on that beautiful resurrection morning.

Mummy, you birthed and brought up a wonderful group of individuals and many of us here in Canada have been richly blessed through them. May you rest in the bosom of our dear Lord Jesus, until we all meet.

Many may wonder now if I'm of one of your biological children. How else could I have referred to you? The love and family tie we share is more than enough reason.
The news of your illness came with shock and pain to my heart and I constantly prayed for you to get well, but God had another plan for us all. He called you home at His appointed time, though painful to me because I wished you'll be here longer. Your demise has sure left a vacuum that can't be filled by any other.
For more than thirty years I knew you, you were a  true Christian. You served the Lord with all your heart and all you could. You were an epitome of righteousness. You were a good mother to us your children and we love you.
I know by God's word that heaven is a beautiful place and that's where you are now because saints don't die. You are right in the bosom of our Lord and that's our comfort.
It is my prayer that God help us all who are still here to stand strong and keep the faith, until we meet in heaven to part no more.

While trying to process your demise, what came to mind was the memories of my teenage years. You made the art of accommodating others seem effortless, leaving an enduring mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross your path. I was one of the fortunate ones who crossed your path and will forever be greatful for all those impactful lessons you thought me. Your generosity was a garden of kindness, where the seeds of compassion were sown and nurtured.  Your love was a tapestry woven with threads of care and sacrifice.  A mother in Israel indeed. The vacuum you left will be difficult to fill. You have gone to received the rewards you have sown.
Your departure is Heaven's  gain our loss. You will be remembered by all what you have done. Good night Mummy.

I got a call from my mom in December of 2017, she sounded so happy and wanted to inform me should would be attending the congress in January of 2018 with Sister Akinmade, Since my house was very close to the camp ground, she requested me to be their host, I gladly accepted and made sure they would be as comfortable as possible. Of course mummy came with their husband for the congress and they would all gist late into the night each day they came back home from the congress…….it reminded them of the old Ughelli days as they would say. I did receive both the fatherly and motherly prayer from daddy and mummy before the went back to ughelli, little did I know that was going to be the last time I would be seeing mummy.
Words fail me to express the pain I felt after learning of your transition. You’ve left a vacuum that cannot be filled in a million years.
You’ve ran the heavenly race and finished well, our consolation is that we would see again on the resurrection morning. Keep resting in the bosom of the Lord till we meet again.
My thought and prayers are with all that you have left behind.

You are a true definition of "a mother in Israel" You left a lasting imprint in the hearts of those that are near and far. The kindness of your heart radiates so quickly and so far without you uttering a word. 
It is so painful you left us at this time, but our consolation is that Heaven has just gained a saint! Sleep well, Mother! Till we meet at the resurrection morning.

As I reflect upon your life, I am reminded of the invaluable lessons you imparted. Your home was a sanctuary of love, faith, and virtue even to the downtrodden without any discrimination —a testament to the power of living a Christ-centered life.

 Mama, we saw in you practical path to raising godly children, setting a standard that we all aspired to emulate.

Your family life stood as a living testament to the beauty of a godly union. Your love and respect for one another became a blueprint for those around you, teaching us that love rooted in Christ can weather any storm.

Beyond being a spiritual guide, you embraced the role of an educator. Through your teachings of integrated science and chemistry during our high school days, you sowed knowledge and wisdom into our eager minds.

Mama, your words of encouragement, "My son, you will be a great man," were delivered with such conviction that has left an everlasting imprint on my soul.

Though you've transitioned to eternity, your legacy thrives in every life you've touched.

My dear Sister Elizabeth,

It is with heavy heart I write this tribute on your transition to glory. We had all wished you be around with us for a while longer but God thought otherwise.

My dear sister, you have run a good race and gone the way of all mortals but your footprints will remain in the sand of time. Your beautiful spirit will live on through the lives you affected and they will remember how much you impacted them. You worked hard for God and humanity, but God called you and you had to go.

When we love someone, it’s hard to let go, but we are comforted that you will always be in our hearts. My joy and comfort is that you are resting in peace, knowing you lived a holy life and did all the good you could while alive. Your husband, children, friends and relatives will remember you with great admiration.

To me, you were so special, a sister good and true. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family as we collectively celebrate the life you lived.

As you transition to be with the Lord, we are comforted that you are in a better place and fond memories is what we will hold on to until we meet again.

So sad to hear of Mummy's passing. Daddy and Mummy were still at our place last summer and we spoke at length. We remember Mummy and Daddy praying for us. From what Joshua has shared with us, we know you are now resting at the bosom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. That's what gives us comfort.

Beloved, elder sister. You and Daddy are among the special people God placed as pillars and significant milestones in my journey of life and ministry. In fact, I never realised how much you had become a part of me and my wife 's lives until you left abroad for treatment. Can we ever forget the love that you demonstrated to us in so many practical ways? You opened your heart and your house to us, so much that many thought we were blood relations. 
You housed my wife for 3 years after my transfer from Ughelli without complaining. You encouraged me as a minister in many ways than I can mention here. We still find it hard to come to terms with your departure, but we are encouraged that it is to a better place.

Even though I never met you ma in person,  I met two of your kids in the person of Joshua and Shola. Two wonderful friends and human. Ma you raised a generation of great being, for that I say a big thank you.

Your warm reception and hospitality made your house my Ughelli home. You and Daddy became my Ughelli parents. Your parenting was exemplary. Those experiences and lessons you shared with me shall continually be in my heart. Your contributions to my wedding still linger in our memory. 

Surely, you have gone to your rewards stacked up for you in your real home above. 

We love you but the Lord loves you better.

Mummy Akinmade, the news of your death came as a rude shock. You were a beautiful soul that we admired so much in AGGS Ughelli.  You were very gentle and soft spoken.You lived a quiet life but affected those that came across you.  We called you mummy and you were a mother indeed. You were a role model in your Christian life style. I wished you were still alive but nobody can question  God. You have gone to be with your maker to rest from the troubles of this world. I know by God's grace you are singing and rejoicing with saints in heaven. Rest in the bosom of your maker till we meet to part no more. Adieu mummy.

Although I did not know mama so well, but it feels that I've known her well enough, why? this is because you tell can a lot about a mum through the lifestyle of her children. 

Mama although you have left this earth, you legacy lives on and radiates through the lives of your children, the way they fear the Lord and have achieved so much is a testament to the good work that you have performed on them. 

Your leaving this earth may be seen a s a sorrowful event, but it is also a thanksgiving service as we know that you have hope in eternity through our Lord Jesus Christ in whose bosom you now rest. 

We all hope and believe that we would some day meet at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Daddy and my pastor, I received with shock on Saturday morning, the news of mummy's exit. 

I never she had been sick. Infact, I thought of you at the Congress, and I said I would try to reach after the programme, not knowing what was going on.

Anyway, God knows the best for his. If this is the best time for to leave this evil world to join her saviour whom she had followed these past tense of decades, there is not much we can do not say.

We are pained here but it gain to our Saviour. Cheer up, daddy! It is well.

The Good God will take care of you. He will comfort you and strengthen you. Let's hold forth and hope to the end: we shall meet her someday!

To Joshua and the siblings, I say may the Lord comfort everyone.  The Bible is true. Heaven is real. Jesus never fails. He knows all about this.

Mummy Akinmade, it's sad to know you have left this earth. We prayed and hoped for your long stay here with us. Though pained by your departure, we are confident that you have transited to glory and comforted by the life you led and your unfeigned love for God. My eyes are full of tears. It is hard to imagine you have gone to be with the Lord so soon.                                                                                                   My aunt had a great influence in my life. The impact of this made me who I am today.                                                                                                     I remember visiting her after my secondary education. She preached the word of God to me and prayed for me. Thereafter, she asked about my next plan. I was confused about the next step of life to take. She advised me to further my education and especially, serve God with sincerity of heart. She led me to Christ and then I started worshipping with the family in Deeper Life Bible Church.                                                                                                                 My aunt single handedly sponsored and provided everything I needed throughout my university education.                                                                                                              I cannot forget the advice she gave me on January ist, 2010, after the family morning prayers. She advised me to look for a better opportunity in Port Harcourt as my skills were of great value there. I followed her advice, which marked a turning point in my life.                                                                                          Mummy, I promise never to deviate from the values of humility, dedication to God, sincerity, and kindness you taught me until we meet to part no more.

Mummy I knew you as a neighbor when I and my son were living behind kogbodi but you proved to be just more than my neighbor. You and your family accepted me and my son not as a neighbor but as a close family member. Thank you so much.
Mummy you taught me christian values which has helped me to grow considerably in Christ. The last time we spoke you told me you were getting better but suddenly your condition changed, I know you're in a better place now with Christ you held unto even as you were taking your last  breathe. Mummy I miss you so much but Christ loves you more. Continue to rest in God's Bossom.

Mummy Akinmade, I would remember you as a woman of significant strength.  When I visited 3 months before your transition to glory, I could tell that despite what you were experiencing in her body, your spirit was alive and well.  There was no sign of weakness.

You brought to life the scripture that says "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."  Rather than fear, you had the comfort of the Lord in those difficult days.

Those uncomfortable days are over and now you are with the Lord.  No pain.  All joy.  While we celebrate the legacy that you have left behind, we remember that Christians don't die, we just get translated from the earthy to the glorious.

Mummy !  Your sudden  exit from this sinful world  has  reminded me of so many things from the Bible .  “ Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away- James 4:14.  “  Truly, life is  like  a morning  dew  that  appears  early in the  morning   and  disappeared  at the  rising of the sun, full of  struggles , struggle  for  food,  clothes  and  shelter, yet  many people  struggled at the expense of others  and to the detriment of their own souls. Painfully they left everything behind at the  visit of  Mr. death, who  disallowed them from carrying their wealth along to eternity. Then, why all these struggles without Christ? Salvation is the best achievement we can have here on earth. Thank God, you have it.”

 Mummy, I thank God  you are not dead but alive  with Christ in glory. Your memory can never depart from me, the thought of your motherly love, counsel, encouragement and those your amiable smile are wonderful and refreshing, very pleasant and challenging, very lovingly and warming you were to us the body of Christ in Ughelli Region
 It pleases God to take you from us for the reason  best known to Him, but the   vacuum  and the work  you left behind are so great and heavy,  the pain is much. May God help us to overcome this irreparable lost. 
My only consolation is that one day we shall meet at the feet of  Christ  to  depart  no  more.

A tribute to Mummy Elizabeth Akinmade:

When on our journey through life, we encounter someone who truly manifests the power of godliness, we no doubt enjoy those virtues in their multi dimensional manifestation. But it is only when we suddenly find a vacuum in the place of those virtues that the fullness of our erstwhile blessing, and now loss, dawns on us.

Such truly is the experience of my family and I, when, as it is today, we face the reality that our ever cheerful, Christian mother, sister and in-law is no longer here. 

Mummy Akinmade will be missed. However her footprints remain with us in Pastor Akinmade and their children. She lived an impactful life and our great comfort is that “voice from heaven saying unto (us) Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth. Yeah, says the Spirit that they may rest from all their labors and their works do follow them.
Revelation 14:13.

She has laboured and by Gods grace will get no less than that promised divine rest. What a great comfort this exclusive promise is for us believers.

Ecclesiastics 3:1-11 summarizes the events of life, and in Verse 2 we read that “…there is a time to be born and a time to die”….

The news of your  demise came as a rude shock to us. So, so painful. We lived as family right from the time we were neighbors  at Maduku lane. Ever since then we have seen your family as one with us . You have only dropped  this earthly carton called  body to be free to be with the lord. You were a mother to me , my husband  and my children, also a worthy counselor.

We will  miss  you on this side of the divide but wishing to meet you one day on the resurrection  morning where  we will ever be with  the our savior. 

SLEEP ON DEAR SISTER. The lord will comfort your husband and children you left behind.

I was blessed to have met and known Mummy Akinmade through Joshua - a friend turned brother, in 2009!

Mummy Akinmade was such a down-to-earth, loveable and wise elder. Her words were always filled with wisdom, like golden apples in settings of silver. She was a mother to all and one could be certain to have an insightful conversation with her whenever an encounter occurred. The atmosphere around Mummy was always one of peace and calm.

Today, we pay our respects to one of God's esteemed Generals, who has now returned home to rest with our Lord. While Heaven celebrates its gain, Earth mourns its loss. Mummy Akinmade, your memory eternally resides in our hearts, as we are immensely grateful for the cherished memories and the impactful life you led.

Life really has a beautiful way of bringing thing together and making something beautiful out of it. I met you as a very young boy, and not know who my parents were, you took me as a son without any hesitation. The beauty of your smile and the warmness of the mother's love in your heart kept me around till this day. Even as a man now, I still in my quiet times look back and smile and thank God for the wonderful soul you were. We wish you stayed more with us, but I know you have done your own part in Gods scheme of things. In the time you had in this side of life, you touched lives, built men, won souls, showed us the way, fulfilled your purpose. You did it all mummy and am glad you did. They told me you have gone, that you have left this side, that I won't see you again, but I know, I know, I will meet in the morning just beside the Eastern gate over there,where I know you won't leave again cos you've got a mansion over there. Mummy Akinmade, what did I see? I saw the richness of a quiet, good life. Thank you for raising a godly dynasty and a goodly heritage. Few though our interactions, they were a pointed reminder of mindful introspection. On both sides of the eternal divide, yours is gain not loss. Life weaves individuals whose impact echoes through time. Today, we celebrate an extraordinary woman—beloved mother, loving disciplinarian, fervent servant of the Lord, and unwavering supporter of His work. Even at a distance of ten thousand kilometers from cherished brethren, your support and care remained unwavering.
Your presence embodied the beauty of motherhood—a fusion of unconditional love and unwavering guidance. With a gentle yet firm hand, you shaped your children's character, nurturing them with affection while instilling values that molded them into remarkable individuals. Your discipline mirrored your deep love, reflecting high standards for those under your care. This blend established a family rooted in respect, integrity, compassion, and Christian values.
Beyond spiritual guidance, you were hands-on with the needy. Compassion overflowed, aiding the less fortunate, downtrodden, and marginalized. Your understanding of Christianity's essence as action, not just words, echoed through impactful deeds—proof of one person's profound influence on others.
Writing with a heavy yet grateful heart, I acknowledge the privilege of knowing and loving an exceptional woman. Mama, rest in the Savior's embrace, whom you cherished and called upon while here on Earth. Until we reunite, Good Night and sleep well.

Mummy Josh (Mrs Elizabeth Akinmade), hearing about your departure to the land where "we" will never grow old came with miss feeling. I really don't know how to accept the reality that you are no longer physically with us. You were a mother to all of us; in love, Care and concerned. I remembered meeting you for the very first time at Ughelli, you received me wholeheartedly,  treated me as a son and this single act bounded me to your family. You were very simple but firm in character as a mother. I always look forward to seeing your cheerful face and hear your mercurial voice when the occasion arise. Unfortunately, this desire of mine is no longer possible except on the resurrection morning. You have completed your God given assignment. Farewell, Farewell Mom Josh.

We thank God for giving you to us as a GIFT to be our Mother. We love you,but He loves you more. Adieu Mum

I have not met u in person but I have met and dinned with your seeds. The life they lead shows the impact that had been made on them. Your face look so calm like that of my elder brother, Josh. Rest on mummy till we see on the resurrection morning.

This is sad. What a lost.Sis. Akimade was a gentle and a peace loving person who had the fear of God. I never saw her quarrelled with anybody anyway. She served God with the whole of her heart, and all  that she had. She was a gallant soldier of Christ. May God Almighty grant her gentle soul eternal rest, and her family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss in Jesus name, Amen.

I was in pain when I heard  about your death. I spoke  with you before you  travelled hoping to hear from you again. Only to hear  the sad news of your  demise .I have  your  number  but  I can't call  now  what  a world. I miss your  care for  my  children  and  your  smile,  but  my  its  well  .We will  meet  on the resurrection  day  to  part no more  .Rest on   and  and  good  night.

The passing of a mother leaves a gap that no one can fill. My name is Dr Oki and I am one of Mama's adopted sons. 
 Today, as we lay our mother to rest, we realize more than ever how dear she was to us. She was much more than a mom to me, she was an instructor, an educator and a moral guide. 
Mama, I'll never forget how you took my WAEC preparations personal, giving private unpaid lectures. I whined and grumbled because you insisted we studied while others were playing, but as I held my results in my hands, I realized the vital lessons of hardwork, consistency and delayed gratification you  taught had paid off. The resounding success in that exam would lay the foundation of excellence in all the other exams I would go on to write. In one master stroke you had showed me not just how to pass exams but how to be a better Christian man in a morally bankrupt society.
As we lay you to rest today, even though our heart is heavy but we do not weep like those that have no hope. We're certain that you're resting with the LORD. 
Thank you for impacting us, your children.

Dear mummy, your loss is a great one and I haven't come to terms with this painful truth. You instilled good values in those of us you taught without compromise. We wish you were still here to continue your good works but we take solace in the fact that you are now at the bosom of our Lord and savior JESUS CHRIST resting well. Goodnight mum, we believe you didn’t die but slept in the Lord and at the resurrection morning, we shall meet again.

It is going to take a while to accept the reality of you leaving us so soon. Your prayers are still fresh in our memories and we know that nothing in this world compares to what heaven has in store for you. Rest on!!! Till we meet at the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I am saddened to hear of your passing (mummy) but comforted by God’s word, knowing that you’ve gone to be with your creator in heaven.

Your unmeasurable love and kindness towards us growing up in Ughelli can never be forgotten.

I never had the privilege of meeting Mrs Akinmade, however, the memories shared by my husband painted a picture of a truly remarkable woman. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and love will  live on. Sending heartfelt condolences and keeping the entire family in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
