

Born February 6, 1930, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, George was pre-deceased by his parents, Julio and Consuelo Dato, his sister Elsa, and granddaughter Christina Jayes. His father, Don Julio was a General and was the orchestra conductor for the Argentine military and his sister Elsa was an opera singer in Italy. He lived in Rochester, NY and Cape Coral, FL before making Atlanta, GA his permanent residence with his wife, Teresa. George and Teresa loved to travel, host dinner parties and went on frequent cruises. He loved to listen to opera and Frank Sinatra songs and was quite the jokester. He loved to laugh as well as make others laugh.
Papa was a kind and loving grandfather to Christina, Mario, Austin, Gabriella & Isabella; as well as a great-grandfather to Melanie, Sebastian and Jackson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa; stepchildren, Diana Jayes (Brent), Jacqueline Mejia (Mario) and Ralph Castro (Kris); and sons, George & Willie of FL.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Advantage Funeral Home, 500 Harbins Road NW, Lilburn, GA 30047 with visitation from 12 noon to 2 pm with the funeral service immediately following.
Actual burial will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 3 pm at the same location.
