Hazel Diane Foote Wimbush was born on October 9, 1948, the 6th child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mason (Fannie) Foote. Two sisters Lucille Gaines and Bernice Barnes preceded her in death. She passed on September 9, 2020.
Hazel joined Waggoner Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She graduated from Southside High School in 1967 and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for a short time. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and went to Atlanta Area Tech.
She started working at Fulton National Bank in 1968, and retired from Bank of America in May 1999. After retiring from Bank of America, she worked 20 years with the East Point police department as a school crossing guard.
Hazel met the love of her life Charlie Wimbush in 1972. They were married on November 30, 1974 and enjoyed 46 years together. To this marriage no children were born, but she truly loved all of her nieces and nephews.
She joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in July, 1976 and joined the usher board where she served faithfully until her health failed.
Hazel leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charlie W. Wimbush, her sisters Rebecca F. Rouse and Inez Hitchcock, her brothers Lonnie P. Foote and Hiram (Bubba) Foote, her sister-in-laws Louise Freeman and Patricia Foote, nieces Joyce, Robin, Ormander, Stephanie, Daphne, Bernita, Trudie, Fannieleah and nephews Warren III, Kevin and Timothy. She also leaves a wide circle of other family and friends including cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews and great great nieces and nephews.
