It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ken Sucharski, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully at his home on September 17, 2026. Born on February 8, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Ken was a man who lived his life with passion and purpose, touching the lives of everyone he encountered.
Ken was the cherished son of the late Henry and Lucille Sucharski, and he grew up surrounded by love and support. He shared a deep bond with his sisters Carolyn (Carl) and Lisa (Cotton), and his brother Frank. Though he faced the heartache of losing his dear wife Anne, his parents, brother-in-law Robert Cotton, and nephew Nolan Sucharski, Ken remained a pillar of strength and kindness for his family.
He was a devoted father to his children, Todd, Carrie (Smaha), and Sarah (Watkins), always encouraging them to pursue their dreams with the same vigor he exhibited in his own life. His legacy continues through his two adored grandchildren, Estelle and Lillian (Smaha), who brought him immense joy and pride.
Ken was an aspiring musician with a natural talent for creating music. His days were filled with writing lyrics, humming tunes, and producing his own songs. He was a one-man band, laying down every track himself, from vocals to guitar, bass, and drums. His passion for music was matched only by his generosity and humor, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Ken had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel welcome, and he was always ready with a joke or a kind word. He also had a keen eye for capturing life's precious moments on video, ensuring that memories would be preserved and rewatched.
As we honor Ken's life, we remember not only his talents and achievements but also the warmth and joy he brought into our lives. His private funeral service will be held on September 25, 2026, where close family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable journey.
In lieu of flowers, you can make donations directly to the family to help cover any remaining costs.
Ken's light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he has left this world, his music, humor, and kindness will continue to resonate, reminding us of the beautiful life he led.
