

Minnie Jean Bottom, age 96, of Winder, GA as a resident of Corner Health and Rehab Center entered into rest May 22, 2025. Mrs. Bottom was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Ireland, IN, the daughter of the later Gertrude Toler and the late Herschel Toler.
While in high school she worked at the 5 & Dime and Parker's Drug Store. She graduated from Winslow High School in 1947 and married Bert E. Bottom on June 29, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband in May 2012.
Mrs. Bottom was an active homemaker, loved to bake and enjoyed church activities. She was a 75-year member of the Winslow Eastern Star Chapter. She was the office Secretary at the Winslow Elementary School from 1966 through 1974. Starting work at the Pike County Courthouse from 1974 through 1978.
Bert and Minnie Jean moved to Warrick County in August 1978 where he was employed by AMAX Coal Co. He retired in October 1985. They spent their retirement traveling and seeing the USA. They retire to FL in the early 1990's. They moved to GA in October 2008 to reside with their daughter and son-in-law.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Taylor (Dave) and a son, Brent E. Bottom. She has three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Corner Health and Rehab Center and the Affinis Hospice staff for all the great care.
The Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services assisted the family. Burial for both Mr. & Mrs. Bottom will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Athens, GA. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
