Nancy Bayly Waters of Decatur, Georgia, went to be with God on July 24, 2020 after sudden cardiac arrest. Nancy was born on October 25, 1967 in Atlanta Georgia. While Nancy was in grade school, she flourished in creative arts. Most memorable was her characterization in a school production of the hilarious Mrs. Wiggins from the Carol Burnett Show. Afterwards she attended Northside High School in further pursuit of creative academics. Later she attended Cosmetology School and enjoyed a career in creative hair styling.
Love of family and friends were far more important to Nancy Bayly than career rewards. During her 52 years of life, she drew friends from all walks of life and she loved each of them in their own special way. As Bayly so aptly stated on one of her FaceBook posts, “I’m not here to fit into your world. I’m here to make my own.” And one could see that her world was a happy one because when she smiled she lit up the whole room.
Nancy Bayly is survived by her life partner, Mary Anne Richards, brother Richard D. Waters (Lucy), stepmother Brenda Waters and two cousins, Dr. William C. Waters IV (Teresa) and Sally McEntire (Dennis). She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Henry Waters, and mother, Nancy Dashiell Waters.
Final arrangements are to be handled by Advantage Funeral Home, Lilburn. No formal services are scheduled at this time. A memorial service and life celebration will be planned and held on a date and time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Nancy Bayly Waters to churchofthecommonground.org
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wellstar Cobb Hospital and the staff at LifeLink for their loving care, and respect for our loved one.
