Raymond Wendell Hasty, son of Jesse and Claretta Hasty, was born April 29, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY in the town of Brownsville. He was raised in a large family alongside his siblings; Ruth (Nita), Corlette, Larry, and Arlene.
Raymond attended Canarsie Highschool where he had a love for music and cars: Which first, led him and his best friends, Stanley and Carlton, to start a band where he sang and played the piano and saxophone. Then later, leading to co-owning a mechanic shop named Sackman Auto in Brownsville, with his brother Larry. During these years, he also welcomed his first daughter, Deanna, with her mother Dianne Brown. Later, after proudly joining the military, he met and married Victoria Thomas, affectionately known as Vicky. While spending several years stationed in Osaka, Japan, Raymond and Vicky welcomed their son Isaac Ramir, all while Raymond found the spare time to DJ for friends. Upon returning to the states, his military expertise in communications earned him distinguished positions at Chase Bank, Coco-Cola Incorporated, and AT&T.
Raymond was known for being a hardworking man, a loyal friend, and devoted father. Over time, a passion for fishing grew to surpass even his love for cars and music. So much so that after living for most of his adult life in Queens Village, NY, giving many friends their first Atlantic Ocean boat ride and even running his own businesses, he and the family relocated to Norcross, GA. Where he looked forward to spending time on the water trying to reel in the next BIG catch with his wife and grandkids in tow. However, continuing with his entrepreneurial pursuits, he later established Room by Room Construction, with his son Issac.
On January 26, 2026, our Heavenly Father called Raymond home. He leaves behind the cherished memories of his wife Vicky, his son, Isaac, grandson DeAndre, and his siblings Ruth (Nita) and Larry. While he is survived by his sisters Arlene and Corlette, his Mother-in-law, Willie Mae Thomas, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa, Chris, Margaret, George and Kevin. His son Garrett, and his daughters, Deanna, Sereima, and Victoria II. As well as daughters-in-law, Tammy and Rhodesia, sons-in-law, Tajh and Ilyas. And a TRIBE of grandchildren: Including Isaiah, Kayla, Alvin, Shalaywa, Amir, Victoria III, Ilyas II, and Sbastian. Cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and dear friends to name.
All loved deeply and without measure.
