Bill was known by many, he made everyone his friend. He loved gatherings of all kinds, whether it was with family, friends or social activities. Cars and boats were his interests while fishing with his children and grandchildren gave him great pleasure. He enjoyed woodworking, as his heart was that of a carpenter. Strong attention to detail both at work and home showed itself through his passion for plants and flowers. He made his yard an impeccable garden of serenity.
As a facility manager at St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School (1996 to 2013), he took great pride in the environmental services, maintenance, safety and security of staff, students and guests at the school. Bill was presented the 2003 Risk Management Award for his outstanding service.
Each morning as the school day began, Bill stood faithfully at the carpool line, opening doors, greeting the children by name, and sending them into their day with a huge smile. In those moments Bill offered kindness and a sense of being seen. Bill had a lasting imprint on countless SJN students. The teachers especially appreciated the efforts he made to meet their needs. He brought joy to the classrooms during special times of the year.
Bill was a lay minister for St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a faith-filled Catholic.
Safety and security were main priorities when he was the director of plant operations for the Kaukauna Community Hospital for 11 years.
Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class (E-5) 1963-1967.
