

Ada Marotta, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 2nd at McLeod Seacoast Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Ada lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to those around her.
Daughter of Louis and Rose Lusardi, Ada was predeceased by her parents, her dear sister Theresa Cuccurillo (nee Lusardi), her brother Sgt. Joseph Marotta, and her son, Dr. Joseph Marotta.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 70 years, John V. Marotta, whom she married on February 9, 1957, at St. Joseph's Church in Brooklyn, NY. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, soon to celebrate seven decades of marriage.
Ada's enduring legacy is carried on by her children, John L. Marotta and his wife Regina, and her daughter Teresa A. Zimmardi and her husband Anthony. Her four grandchildren, Nicolas, Joseph, Anna Rose, and Anthony, were her pride and joy, filling her life with endless happiness and cherished memories.
For over 30 years, Ada dedicated herself to her career as an insurance agent, where she was known for her professionalism and commitment. Beyond her work, she was an active member of the Columbiettes, holding various positions throughout the years. Her faith was central to her life, as demonstrated by her service as a Eucharistic Minister and her volunteer work at the Outreach office at St. Kilian's RC Church in Farmingdale, New York.
Ada had an insatiable curiosity and a love for learning, which she satisfied through her avid reading of English novels and her passion for world history. She found immense joy in baking delicious desserts and traveling, always seeking to explore new places and cultures.
Ada's loving nature was evident to all who knew her. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family, friends, and those in need. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where everyone was greeted with a smile and open arms.
A memorial service to honor Ada's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home, located at 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
The Ada's legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so generously shared with the world.
