“Al” was born in Washington, DC, on June 16, 1947, to Sidney and Sophie Gibson. He attended Washington public school, graduating from Anacostia High School.
In 1968, Al started his career as an officer with the Prince George’s County, MD, Police Department. After serving as a k-9 Officer, an Investigator, and Public Information Officer, he retired in 1989.
On January 26, 1974, Al married Janet Rae French of Forestville, MD. The couple made their home in Prince George’s and Calvert Counties in MD before relocating to Conway, SC in 2008.
Al will be greatly missed by Janet, his loving wife of 47 years; his sister, Cindy Saitta of Maryland; many nieces, nephews and friends.
