

Amelia Tesoriero, 86, died Friday, September 1, 2017 at McLeod Loris Hospital surrounded by family.
Born on January 6, 1931 in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gesualdo and Francesca Bellavia.
Amelia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Angelo Tesoriero, their five children: Concetta, Francesca, John, Angela and Amy; and sons-in-law Robert and Chris. She was the loving and doting grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Robert, Nichole, Salvatore, Dominic, Joseph, Teresa and Alexa.
After raising her five children, Amelia returned to work as a secretary to the Corporate Secretary of American International Group in NYC. She retired in 1993.
Amelia was energetic and outgoing. She was always on the go. Her daily visits to the Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center gave her a busy social life surrounded by friends and laughter. She enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. She traveled yearly to Aruba and was surrounded by friends there also. Amelia loved playing Solitaire and eventually mastered Spider Solitaire and Free Cell on her computer.
Amelia was strong in her Catholic faith, a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea, and prayed the rosary daily.
Amelia loved her family and was proud of all they accomplished. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren in their homes and created many memories which they will cherish always. She will be deeply missed and leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
