Ann grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of George Wythe High School in Wythe County, VA. She previously worked at Jordan’s Breakfast House (formerly Sheila’s) in Calabash, NC. Ann loved the beach and it was here that she met Tommy and fell in love. They were together until his passing in February, 2020.
She will be remembered as a caring and loving mother. Ann was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She always gave to people and never asked for anything in return.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas “Wade” Long (Lindsey); Joe Harris (Mary); daughters Angie Holmes Long; Debbie Harris; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; her sister Bertha Mae Cregger Petty from Pulaski, VA; brothers Cecil Gerald (Jerry) Cregger from Spedwell, VA; and Dennie Clay Cregger from Dublin, VA. Ann was preceded in death by parents Cecil B Cregger and Bertha Inez Tate Cregger; infant brother Benny Ray Cregger brother Ralph Olen Cregger; two sisters, Linda (Peewee) Cregger Tabor; and Charlotte Caroline Cregger Mitchell.
Funeral service and burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, Little River, SC.
