Ann Juel (MawMaw), 83, of Little River, SC passed away peacefully on 4/14/25 surrounded by the ones she loved. Born in 1941, MawMaw was a vibrant and compassionate woman who touched the lives of many. Ann Juel was the first licensed female boat captain in SC and spent many years running Captain Juel’s Fishing Fleet along with booking all charters till the day she passed for Fish Screamer Charters.
A limb fell from the family tree. I hear a voice that whispers “Grieve not for me” Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs. The good I lived while I was strong. Continuing my legacy, I’m counting on you. Keep on smiling, the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all how I was truly blessed. Continuing traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your lives, no fears at all. I miss you all dearly, until that fine day we’re together again.
MawMaw was survived by her children Danny Juel (Susan), Kim Stevens (Brent), and Shon Juel. Her grandchildren: Stefanie (Jamie), Erin (Shawn), and Savanna (Patrick). Her adored great grandchildren: Camden and Asher DeShong, Knox and Cade Parkinson, Bella and Baby Boy #2 Crean. She also leaves behind her faithful feline companions, Cali and Willow. MawMaw was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her beloved grandson Dusten Juel, husband Frank Juel and loving mother Great MawMaw. A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place.
In these sad moments, our hearts do grieve,
A very precious life has now taken leave.
With heavy hearts and tearful eyes,
We bid farewell under somber skies.
A life well-lived, memories we hold,
Stories of love, both young and old.
Through laughter shared and tears that fell,
In our hearts, your presence dwells.
The sun may set, but stars remain,
In cherished memories, we find no pain.
Though you’re gone, your spirit’s near,
And it will guide us through each passing year.
As we gather here to say goodbye,
We lift our thoughts to the endless sky.
In quiet reflections, we honor and pray,
For your journey, on this somber day.
Rest now, dear MawMaw, in peaceful embrace,
In infinite love, time and space.
Though we part ways, our hearts entwine,
Your memory forever in our hearts will shine.
