Barbara Lou Ellis

Barbara Lou Ellis of Calabash, North Carolina passed on June 1, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on March 28, 1952. A native of Gibson County, Indiana, Barbara was the only child of the late James and Faye Garwood.

She attended Princeton Community High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. In 1973, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Ellis, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned many years and countless cherished memories.

In 2003, Barbara and Bill made their home in Calabash, North Carolina, where she embraced the coastal lifestyle and built lasting friendships. She found great joy in gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers with her faithful dog, Lady, by her side.

Above all, Barbara treasured time spent with her family. One of her greatest pleasures was cheering on her grandson from the stands and watching him play baseball. Those moments brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Ellis; daughter, Tonja Huffman (Matt); grandson, Wyatt Huffman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on June 10, 2026, at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, South Carolina 29566.
