Born in Greenville, SC on August 3, 1943 he was the son of the late Benson Clayton and Ernestine Sitton Parrish of Easley, SC. Benson graduated from Easley High School in 1961. He served honorably in the US Army, stationed in Germany. Benson also completed a Textile Engineering degree from Clemson University in 1973. He spent his career working in management for Mayfair Mills for over 30 years, the majority of that time at the Lincolnton, Georgia plant. His passions included fishing, boating, and Clemson football.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Stella Parrish; three sons, Matt (Tricia), Clayton (Valerie), Remsen (Rebecca); five grandchildren, McKensie, Abby, J.R., Paxton, and Brooklynn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his sister, Tena Parrish Hendricks and brother, Chuck Parrish.
