
Bernard “Red” Komosinski, 88, passed peacefully to meet his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at his home in Little River, SC, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Yonkers, NY in 1929 he was the son of the late Anthoni & Katarzyna Komosinski. Red was the 8th of 10 children and while living in Yonkers met his Rose, the love of his life and future wife of 68 years.
Red and Rose’s Legacy is their family of 5 children; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Red is survived by his wife Rose; Daughters - Donna (& husband Herman Baker), Joyce (& husband Bill Dempsey); and Sons – Edward (& wife Barbara), Joseph and Michael. He is also survived by his Sister -Florence Brennan and Brother John Komosinski, both of Connecticut.
Red proudly served in the US Army for a career 22 years, establishing the family motto “Strong Like Bull”. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was the recipient of numerous awards; The Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and 4 time recipient of the Army Commendation Medal.
After retirement the Komosinski’s settled in New Jersey and maintained a vacation home in North Myrtle Beach for 25 + years before relocating permanently to Little River in 2015.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM pm Friday, January 5, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church to be followed by burial in the Florence National Veteran’s Ceremony at 2 PM.
