It is with the heaviest of many hearts we announce the passing of Brett Lawrence Pettit on January 24, 2017. He succumbed after a long, hard fought illness, which he battled and faced with courage and dignity.
Brett was born in Smithtown, Long Island, NY on October 26th, 1974.
Everyone who ever had the pleasure and good fortune of meeting, knowing or working for Brett will tell you how “VERY SPECIAL” he was (and is).
Having worked in the theater industry from the age of 14, he was proficient in all aspects of the business. As an adult he worked diligently and tirelessly for United Artist on Long Island, NY, IMAX in Myrtle Beach, SC, Rave Theatres in Alabama & Arkansas. His last upper management position was as "East Coast Regional Manager", where he relocated for them to Alabama, Arkansas, New Jersey, Florida and back to South Carolina. He managed all theaters from New Jersey to West Virginia to Florida. He designed theaters, also a restaurant and a bowling alley in New Jersey. He found land in Conway, SC and Murrells Inlet, SC for the Frank Theatres Company and oversaw the constructions to completion. He was a great asset to all of the above.
Brett was also instrumental in the planning, opening and operations of Winning Ways Video Games on Hwy 9 in Little River, South Carolina.
Brett is sadly survived by his parents, Kathy & Frank Pettit; Jeff Hale long-time companion & friend; sister Christine Pettit, her two sons Christopher and Corey Braverman, (all of South Carolina); brother Kenny Pettit, his son Samy; brother Glenn Pettit, sister-in-law Katy Pettit and their children Kyle and Michaela Pettit, (all of Long Island, NY); uncle Thomas Koziol and wife Suzanne Koziol of Maggie Valley, NC.
He will FOREVER be LOVED AND MISSED ..... OUR LOSS IS HEAVEN'S GAIN”.....
