Bruce is survived by his wife, Karen LaFreniere, and his three children (spouses): Bruce Jr. (Kim), Brian (Sopheak), and Kelly (Jeff) Trapp. Six Grandchildren: Zachary Bissonnette , Bruce, Alyssa, and Kacie LaFreniere, Abigail and Jeffrey Jr. Trapp. One great grandchild: Paisley Mae LaFreniere. Along with a vast network of adoring family and friends. Special recognition love to Denver (Helga) Metcalf to whom Bruce considered a second father and Shirley Potter, life-long partner of Gilbert LaFreniere. Three kitty furbabies: Gracie, Cali, and Peanut.
Born in Hudson MA, Bruce was a proud member of the Army, holding a Marksman Badge, and graduate of Hudson Catholic High School. He lived the first 51 years of his life in Marlborough, MA. The proud owner of Brim’s Family Restaurant, he worked day & night to support his family. In and out of the restaurant industry like a prisoner in jail, he finally broke out and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. Bruce honed in on his ability to be hands on and owned his own company, working hard with his concrete design and landscaping. Bruce will always be remembered by his children as a dedicated, hardworking family man who taught his children that no one is perfect. Allowing his children to make mistakes, grow, and, be whatever they wanted to be. His advice was wise and very supportive.
A jack-of-all-trades, Bruce was not only one of the hardest working individuals, he loved to tinker in his garden. The garden was his playground, a place he would get lost in for hours. When he wasn’t in the garden, he enjoyed writing poetry and visiting local wineries with his wife! He also enjoyed time with his family and friends playing various card games.
From the words of Bruce E. LaFreniere, “I tell you these things because your beginning comes with an end, you may not know when it will happen, and it is impossible to defend. The memories you make are an important part of your legacy, so, make those memories great ones, for all to see.”
Please keep Karen LaFreniere & Family in your thoughts and prayers. There will be no formal services to announce at this time.
