Buddy Ray Thompson, Jr., 57, died Saturday, May 19th, 2018, at Duke University Medical Center.
He was the loving husband of Cindy Thompson and a wonderful father to his two sons Trey and Cory.
He was born in Lynchburg, VA on November 19, 1960, the son of Buddy Ray Thompson, Sr. and Charlene Ranson Thompson of Little River, SC. He was a member of Rocks Baptist Church, Pamplin, VA, owner of Beaver Creek Duplexes, off campus CCU student housing in Conway, SC. Buddy was a sports coach and mentor to not only his sons but to many young men over the years. He was an avid Coastal Carolina University sports fan. Buddy was a friend to all who knew him, his presence always filled the room.
In addition to his wife, children and parents, Buddy is survived by his sister Cheryl Sibilia and her husband, John of Longs, SC; and his beloved Golden Retriever, “Sadie”. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robbie Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Reverend Daryle Bush. Burial will be at Rocks Baptist Church in Pamplin, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22nd.
