Calvin Kemp Meetze

From his early days growing up on a small farm alongside his brothers, Larry Meetze and Tim Meetze, and under the loving guidance of his remarkable mother, Bessie R. Meetze, and father, Elton S. Meetze, Calvin learned the values of hard work, humility, and loyalty. He was predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Gable and Barbara Kyzer.

Calvin’s youth was characterized by his exceptional athletic talent, earning recognition in both football and baseball during his high school years. These accomplishments were a testament not only to his skill but to his determination and team spirit—qualities that would serve him throughout his life. He proudly served in the US Airforce for four years.

As an entrepreneur, Calvin poured his energy and vision into creating a business he could be proud of. The business he built was not only a testament to his passion and tenacity, but also to the high regard in which he held his employees, whose contributions he valued deeply.

For sixty years, Calvin shared a deep partnership and love with his wife, his companion through life’s seasons and his partner in every sense of the word. Their marriage was a foundation upon which their family flourished.

Above all, Calvin was a proud and devoted father to his son, Kevin Charles Meetze and dearly loved Kevin’s wife, Tracy Douglas Meetze. And then his little blond girl, Katherine Elizabeth (Katbird) who painted his life with fun and adventures. His love extended deeply to Katie’s husband, Mark Andrew Vyskocil. His family was his pride and joy. That devotion extended to his four remarkable grandchildren who called him “Pappy” : Lily, Kempton, Mason, and Molly, each a source of laughter, light, and immense pride.

Calvin was also a proud friend of Bill, a testament to the strength and generosity of his spirit and the bonds of fellowship that guided and sustained him.

Calvin also cherished and enjoyed so many fun and fulfilling memories of his many friends. Those memories brought him joy and comfort during his time dealing with failing health.

In his passing, Calvin leaves behind a rich legacy of accomplishment, love, and integrity. His memory will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew him. May his onward journey be peaceful and may those who loved him find comfort in the light and warmth of his enduring legacy.
