

Carol fell in love “with a picture” ( that was on a coffee table of her brother-in-law Teddys Moms house). The picture was of his Cousin Werner who was coming to the United States from Germany with Family. The year was 1950.
They met on Christmas Eve 1951, and that is when their love story began. Werner was 18 and Carol was 16.
Werner went into the service Jan. 6th 1954 and during that time he received one “love letter” from Carol. Carol Graduated from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY. that same year. Werner served his time in the United States Army, and when he came home he asked Carol out on a date. Their first date was to RADIO CITY in New York City to see the Christmas Show. They had a one year Courtship and Werner asked for Carols’ hand in Marriage (sitting in the front seat of his brand new 1956 Yellow and Black Chevy Bel Air).
Carol married the love of her life Werner on July 27th,1958 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Bellerose NY.
Her hobbies included bowling with her two best friends Viola and Eleanor, gardening, roller skating at the Mineola Roller Rink (which she continued to do in the basement of their future home in Commack), and enjoyed playing poker with their neighborhood friends. Her true passion in life was to be with her Family.
Before having Children, Carol worked for DoubleDay Printing/Book Company in Garden City NY, working as a Secretary doing billing.
Carol and Werner moved from Franklin Square to their First Home in Commack, LI NY in 1963, where they lived for 32 years.
Carol was blessed to be a stay-at-home Mom and Homemaker (where she kept an immaculate home and garden), as they started their family and raised 3 children whom she completely loved and adored. “A mother holds her children’s hands for a while, their hearts forever.” -Anonymous In 1959, Lorraine was born and married Vincent Casolaro in 1991. In 1961, Kenneth was born and married Roseann in 1997. In 1963, Susan was born and married Louis Cortese in 1983.
In addition to their Children, surviving are five Grandchildren Louis III (Nicole), Robert (Raquel), Michael (Maria), Michael, and Samantha, four Great Grandchildren Carter, Madison, Frankie and Massimo and numerous Granddogs and GrandKitties. As well as extended Family and Friends who she Devoted her Life to.
In 1995 Carol and Werner had a house built in Little River, South Carolina and moved there to enjoy their Retirement Years. Carol especially enjoyed having their Family and Friends come to stay.
Carol was known for always having a smile on her face, her kind, caring and loving disposition. She worried about everyone and always put them before herself. She remembered everyones name and birthday. She was a “Second Mom” and “Oma” to her Childrens and Grandchildrens Friends. She was so very loved by all and will be so deeply missed. A gift in all our lives.
On a beautiful Sunny Day, March 26th, 2024 at the age of 88, Surrounded by the Love of her Life, Werner Husband of 65 years and her three children Lorraine, Kenneth and Susan and Goddaughter Diane, Carol was called home to rest peacefully in the house of the Lord.
Carol was preceded in Death by her Parents and her Sister Marilyn Sickert.
