Carol Wiegel

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frank and Betty Valentine on December 27th 1939. Carol grew up in Pleasant Hills, a suburb of Pittsburgh, where she met her husband of 69 years, Harold W. Wiegel Jr. They attended school together from the 6th grade and graduated from Clairton High School in 1957.

Carol was a woman of remarkable creativity, talent, and grace. An accomplished artist, she had a natural eye for beauty and a gift for bringing her imagination to life. She found great joy in sewing, crafting, decorating, and creating beautiful things with her own hands. Her home reflected her exceptional style and ability to make every space feel warm, beautiful, and inviting.

She was also an accomplished tennis player, embracing the game with energy and determination. Her creativity was more than just a talent; it was the way she expressed her love for life, her family, and the people around her. She not only leaves behind beautiful things she created, but beautiful memories, inspiration, and a lasting legacy of love. Her devotion, kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to those she loved are qualities that will be remembered and carried forward. Carol was a truly exceptional woman who faithfully supported her husband throughout their life together. She was a selfless homemaker and a woman of strong faith and values that will continue to live on through the family she loved so deeply.

Besides her devoted husband, Harold, Carol leaves behind 2 sisters Barbara (Mike) Walton and Vicki (Rick) Collins, 1 brother Bill (Pamela) Valentine, 4 Children, Linda Pentz, Nancy (Tom) Cleppe, Cathy (Ray) Soblesky, and Steve (Jennifer) Wiegel. She is lovingly remembered by 12 Grandchildren, Ronald (Karina) Pentz III, Colin (Christina) Pentz, Danny (Lisa) Valdes, Michael Valdes, Alexandra (John) Boss, Jaime Soblesky, Brad (Cheryl) Soblesky, Nicole (Aaron) Sirvastava, Blake (Alyson) Solbesky, Amber (Tom) Bumbalo, Morgan (William) Hoysradt, and Elizabeth Wiegel, 18 Great-Grandchildren, Ronald Pentz IV, Emilia Pentz, Daniel Valdes, David Valdes, Annslie Valdes, Scarlet Valdes, Harper Valdes, Henry Valdes, Jack Boss, Maxwell Boss, Evan Gill, Grant Gill, Cooper Gill, Ryann Soblesky, Bernhardt Gustafson, Archibald Gustafson, William Hoysradt IV, Penelope Hoysradt. She will be blessed to meet her great-grandson in heaven, Grayson Sirvastava, whom she never had the opportunity to meet here on earth.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 16, 2026 at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, 4102 6th Ave South, NMB, at 11:00 am followed by a reception with refreshments in the fellowship hall.Because of her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s Disease, her family would prefer a contribution to Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
