Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Talbort Pearce; her son, Curtis Garrett; daughter-in-law, Julie Garrett; and two beautiful granddaughters, Mason Garrett and Campbell Garrett. There are also many extended family members and friends that she touched. She will be profoundly missed.
Carolyn was a graduate of Colonial Heights High School and lived in Colonial Heights and Chesterfield, VA most of her life. She retired to North Myrtle Beach five years ago with the love of her life. Carolyn was a hairdresser in Colonial Heights for over 40 years, owning her own shop for many years.
Throughout her life, Carolyn loved to read, consuming thousands of books over her lifetime. She was an incredible cook and loved to watch others enjoy her food. She volunteered for numerous activities, took an interest in others, and often adopted their causes. Not only did Carolyn make herself beautiful every day, but also she always maintained a spotless house.
Simply stated, Carolyn was a beautiful woman and person. She was crowned Miss Chester, Mrs. Dinwiddie and was the Miss Virginia runner-up. Carolyn’s beauty extended beyond her exterior as it was often said she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
Most importantly, Carolyn loved her family. As an only child, her first cousins became her brothers and sisters. She cared for her son like a mother bear and deeply loved and cherished the life she built with her husband, Talbort. In the end, her granddaughters lit up her world and made her smile whenever they walked into the room.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on November 28, 2021 at The Reserve at The Highlands.
