Carolyn S. Wall, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at Grand Strand Hospital. She was born on May 20, 1941, in Thomasville, North Carolina, to the late Clarence Sink and Ruth Hege. Carolyn spent her later years in Little River, South Carolina, where she built a life filled with faith, family, and simple joys.
Carolyn lived most of her life in the Thomasville and Trinity area of North Carolina. One of three children growing up on a farm in the 1940’s, you learn the joy of family, friends, faith and the simple things, and Carolyn exemplified these things.
She found such joy in spending time with family. Whether going to the beach and soaking up the warm sunshine of the Carolina coast with her daughter, Lisa, or going on late night ice cream runs with her grand-daughter Hannah-Ruth. Carolyn knew the value of family and her family knew they were loved.
If life is measured by how well we love, then Carolyn lived well at life. After moving to Little River, S.C a year ago, her family and newfound friends enjoyed lazy days fishing, chatting on her back porch while watching and feeding the songbirds or enjoying dinner and a show. Carolyn never met a stranger.
Her faith was the bedrock of her life. She loved Jesus and loved inviting people to church. Carolyn was a devoted member of Piedmont Bible Church in Thomasville, North Carolina, and later attended Waterbrook Community Church in Little River, South Carolina.
Carolyn exemplified kindness and a love of Christ in her life, and while we as her family will miss her deeply, we are thrilled she is now with her Lord and Savior. We are thrilled that one day we will see her smiling face again in heaven, and we know she was thrilled to see her father, her grandson Caleb, who was her heartbeat, and of course, Jesus!
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Smith (Scott); her granddaughter, Hannah; and her sister, Mary Farlow (Don). In addition to her grandson Caleb Smith, she was preceded in death by her brother, W.G. Sink,
She cherished the friendship of special friends: JoAnne Babyak, Dianne Mott of Little River, South Carolina, and Jerry Craver of Thomasville, North Carolina.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Horry County EMS and the staff of Grand Strand Emergency Department and Neurosurgery ICU for the compassionate care provided.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Waterbrook Church in Little River or Piedmont Bible Church in Thomasville, NC.
