Charles Wayne Baker

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Wayne’s greatest joy in life was spending time with those he loved the most. He shared his warm generosity through his passion for cooking – whether it was a family dinner, a holiday feast, or a simple Sunday meal, he always made sure everyone was well fed and felt at home. Wayne retired from Sheila Morgan interiors in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he worked with dedication and craftsmanship that reflected his creative spirit.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Janie; Daughters Julie (Jamen) Smithey and Gretta Baker. Grandchildren Ashlyn (Todie) Jorgancierski and Alec Smithey; and great grandchildren Haven Grayson and Everly Jorgancierski who brought him endless smiles and pride. He also leaves behind his loyal dog Braxton who was his constant companion.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his love for cooking, and the way he made everyone feel at home. His legacy will live on in the recipes he passed down, the laughter he shared, and the love that surrounds his family every day.

A memorial service will be held at Little River United Methodist Church, located at 1629 Hwy 17, Little River, SC, 29566. The service is scheduled for November 12, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm.
