It’s been a quite a while since I sent you  a little message today is January 20 inauguration day for President Trump and I couldn’t help but think of you and Jane  I hope that both are having your own inauguration party up in heaven. I know she would be elated that her man Trump  is back!   Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and I know I always say that, but there’s always something that reminds me of you a thought of saying a song. I never forget the day the bird landed on your finger  while you were working that bird knew you were a special person like so many others  do    You are loved by so many including myself I love and miss you every day, but it was so excited for this day to come. I wish you were both celebrating down here, but I know you see everything.  Xo 😘 💇‍♂️

Happy 50th Birthday in Heaven 🎊😍 not a day goes by  that  I don’t have you on my mind. I miss your laugh. I miss your smile. I miss all the pictures you would send me every day all day of what you were making what you were eating what you were doing I’d loved it, and I looked forward to it every day, I know you’re  happy and at peace, hi cherish all the memories that me and you made together I still have all your cards all your gifts, the piggies lol I will cherish them always. I’m so glad I got to do the New York Rd. trip with you. We had the best time forgive me for snoring lol  Big hugs and kisses and I hope you are dancing with you mother and celebrating your big day together. God bless you and keep you safe. I told Chris he should patent the K I C  for electric ranges.  And he’d say I should since I actually made his idea come to life

I called it  KIC. (K eep I t C lean ).  Cleverly idealized by C Wiley Stagg. It came with a tag with washing instructions, pace maker & choke hazard warnings.  Chris & Jane were blown away! I don’t know how long it was before they stopped talking about it lol

I sat down & gave Chris’ towel some thought. I read up a bit on magnets. Depending how they were made, different sizes & shapes could hold different weights. Depending on the strength of a magnet it could wreak havoc with a pace maker & definitely the inside of a washer or dryer. And if they came loose could be a choking hazard for small children 😟 ( I went with  neodymium bars )The average width of a range is 30 in & soft terry cloth hand towels are about that size. I sewed a pocket at the top, made a long strip that the magnets got superglued to. When you needed to wash it you just pulled the strip with the magnets out. 

Chris was fanatical about order, especially when cooking. He’d send me pics of what he made for dinner that night. Besides being in awe of the scrumptious meal I felt the same of the cleanliness of the kitchen in the background of the pic. ( I also couldn’t believe that Jane could eat all that food!) Chris was always coming up with ideas to make things better, stronger, easier etc. 
He hated getting his range dirty & even more so cleaning it ha ha. He thought he was clever using huge magnets to hold up a towel while he was cooking & keep the spatter away from the knobs.

Chris loved ❤️ the ocean.  Made fun of me calling me a dumb land lubber lol

When appliances went on the fritz at the house instead of replacing them Chris disassembled them to find the faulty part. Order it & restore it. 
He didn’t do this to be frugal. Lol. It was an opportunity to learn.  XO

Chris loved to talk about his golfing days. So for his birthday I made him a golf motif throw blanket ( it had golf balls & tees ). It found its home on Chris’ recliner.  The colors didn’t really come through on the picture.     When he wanted to be flirty with me while playing on line games Chris would use the smiley face wearing the shades. When I came across this pillow I knew I had to get it for Chris! He said it fit perfectly between his chin & bed pillow 😎




          this new year feels empty already

Oh you would have been so mad at me today; climbing on storage bins & balancing on 2 ladders to get the 16 ft tree in the garage rafters. You used to tell me how to do a project & which power saws to use. Then you’d realize it was me doing the job & you’d say, “Don’t do that! I want no part of this!” Lol.  And I thought it was so sweet when I went to that shady area to look at a trailer. I gave you the info in case you didn’t hear from me in an hour. You said you were honored that I asked you to look out for me.  Please Chris, never stop looking out for me ❤️

I miss our back & forth banter over our accents & the choice of words each of us used. I hate that it came this way but I win Butthead,   I found this pic of you & it explains “yur money maker” lol.  So all those stories you told me were probably true

My dad was the smartest man I ever knew. I called him “the Professor “. After high school he served in the navy & then worked for Zenith. Not a day in college. He read a lot & had a knack for figuring out how things worked. Chris was much like that. He learned a lot from being around his father’s, “Pops”, buildings. Through his life he was always asking questions & finding how to do things.    Chris applied at a wood working shop about 8 mos ago. He really wanted that job & did all the right things like following up with a letter of gratitude for the interview. They’ll never know what a hard talented worker they passed by.  I miss you so much, Chris.  💕

Even after your kids are grown you still need to give them some caring for. One of mine has Asperger’s. Chris once shared an apt with someone with that condition and Chris would listen to me. I have epilepsy. Chris was familiar with seizures & anticonvulsants. While trying to sell my home the bath went. Through texting Chris talked my son & I how to replace the shower arm sprayer & bath diverter. Who does that for strangers? Who has the skill to succeed with the clueless? Lol

Chris often did work for his neighbors. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do. One elderly man who lived with his son had cancer. He asked for Chris on his dying bed. He told Chris that the house had become In disrepair & his son wasn’t handy. He gave Chris a lengthy list & said I’ m sorry I don’t have money to pay you. Chris said what he always said. “Of course”. Chris didn’t stop til that list was finished. (& probably more)

On this holiday, my Brown Eyes, I hope you are at peace & reunited with your mom & long passed little one:)

And Chris said “Tada!”   Now it’s 38 13 /16’s  by
24 inches wide. And he built some shelves in it which she keeps her dog bowls. 

This was a project that Chris did back in October for a neighbor. She had an 8 ft long piece of butcher block that she wanted anchored to the kitchen wall. And she found a large cabinet at a garage sale that she wanted Chris to make fit as a base on the other side. 

In the midst of all this hard work time was taken out to celebrate Jane’s birthday:)

I told Chris that he didn’t build that shed for Jane. That he should build her a screened in gazebo. 

It wouldn’t be Chris’ shed if he didn’t hang a flag from it :)

Chris couldn’t wait to install the solar lights.

Lumber added @ the bottom to close the gap. 
Chris had taken a fall from a ladder & wrenched a knee badly. After a few days of taking care of himself Chris was back caulking,priming & painting. 

I learned so much from Chris. Not just which way to swing a hammer but how to be a better human being.        Miss u so much

Chris made himself an outdoor work area to keep what he needed within reach. Chris was always doing things like that. He was a nut about things being organized. Thinking how to make things better & more efficient. 

Chris was alway busy. One of his last projects was building an outdoor shed. According to HOA standards it was to match the house. He used hardi board cement siding ( the best in the Industry) Last year he resided & painted Jane’s home using hardi board. Chris always used the best quality & did exceptional work. 

Chris & I shared a lot of personal things with each other. ( some intimate 🤭 ) I would tell Chris some things that I knew would make him chuckle with the preface that he could replay them in his head if he needed a good laugh but he could never repeat them. Guess what? He blabbed !! “Silly Girl”, that’s what he used to call me:)  ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔

These are some of the tools Chris just brought back from Long Island. I was so mad at him. I had wanted to make the trip with him.  He wanted to get in & back & girls would make it take too long- butt head! A word by the way my vocabulary picked up from the King of Words With Friends - the only person I know who can rack up points using 2 letters lol. Btw, that’s where I met Wiley. Not realizing the age difference I stalked him lol. That didn’t work out but even better a hell of a friendship developed. Chris if yur lookin down on us keep an eye out for me. You know how I can find trouble & I don’t have the money maker like you to help me get out of it ha ha Good Night my Brown Eyes XO

Chris, I’m so sorry I failed you. You wanted me to take a plane & come down.  My kids were having problems & me who thinks they can solve everything waited a bit. Then as hard as I may couldn’t reach you. Yesterday I found out why. Now I have to pay the price of living in a harsh world where there no longer is a Christopher Wiley who fixes the things in it that he can.  I will always love ❤️ you

   Christopher Wiley Stagg died on December 1, 2021 at the age of 47 in Little River, S.C..

   He was born on July 5, 1974 in Huntington, N.Y. where he lived until 2015 when he moved to Little River, S.C. to live with his mother. They shared a love of cooking and good food. Jane enjoyed telling her friends and family what Chris was cooking that day. And when Jane did the cooking Chris proudly told his FaceBook friends what his mom was cooking.

   Chris became a talented, self taught handy man. He outfitted a work shed - - complete with a miter saw, hand saws and a jig saw. He was proud to show us the doors to the work shed that he built that were better than any you could buy. Jane loved watching birds in their backyard and Chris built several bird houses for her. There is a beautiful crèche in the garage that Chris was working on for his mom.

   Chris was sadly not able to find peace after his mother died on November 12, 2021.

   Christopher is survived by his father, Richard Stagg of Huntington N.Y., his brother David and sister in law, Melissa, and their children Stephen, Katie and Nick of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

   Christopher will be missed by his many aunts and uncles and cousins along with a good friend, Rene Marie Escalante from St. Cloud, Florida.

   Rest In peace dear Christopher.  We all miss you.

   A memorial service will be held on May 13, 2022 in Little River, S.C.  Details to follow.
