Our beloved, Colson Malloy Knight, died August 8th, 2020 as the result of an overdose. He was 23 years old. Because Colson wanted to give back and help others, we are sharing his story.
Colson was born in Loris, SC. He is the son of Ernie Knight and Vickie Ward Knight. Colson attended North Myrtle Beach High School in Little River, SC. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever he could. He was talented with working with his hands in any construction aspect. Colson enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with cars and trucks, and hanging out with family and friends. He loved music, but, country was his favorite. He will forever be remembered for his charming personality, his good looks and a smile that could be seen from a mile away. After graduation from high school, he longed for a simple and happy life with family and friends. Along his journey, he made a decision to experiment with prescription opioids, leading him to the world of heroin. Once heroin got ahold of him it never let him go. Colson’s family truly loved him and tried to be supportive as he struggled for years with this addiction. Unfortunately, he will be remembered as a statistic and a victim of the opioid crisis. All Colson wanted was a normal life, free from the chains of addiction. Even though his journey in this world has ended much too soon, if a life can be freed from the bondage of addiction, his goal of helping others will carry on.
