

Craig Alan Hines passed away peacefully at home on Friday, 8/7/26, with his love & wife Camille, and a close friend by his side. He fought a valiant fight against cancer, defying the odds for 17 years.
He excelled at Michigan State University in the Nuclear Chemical Engineering department. He was the youngest to be certified to run & train others on the nuclear reactor simulator there. After graduating in 1980, he worked as a Nuclear Chemical Engineer at the Savannah River Nuclear Power Facility in Georgia. He later moved to Niantic, CT to work at the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant. He also worked in robotics and chemical distribution at Pfizer, before working & retiring as a high voltage trainer from Eversource in October of 2021. He then headed to Longs, SC to enjoy his retirement.
Craig was a very involved Dad, including active participation in local church & youth groups, and as a leader in Boy Scouts. He and his boys were a small band playing regularly for their church. He was a dedicated and loving father. Craig was also a dedicated (step) father to Shane Highter, actively involved in his life and decisions.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dale & Betty Hines; his sister & niece, Sue & Carie Kelso; brother, Brent Hines and nephew, Nathan Hines. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Camille Mauro Hines; children, Katie, Garret, Chad; stepson, Shane; along with his siblings, Loren (Sherri), Kurt (Laura), Lisa (Bill) and many beloved cousins, extended family, & friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, 8/14/26, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 SC-90 Little River, SC 29566. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Craig preferred that donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.
