David C. Burrell

David Carl Burrell, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in McLeod Seacoast Hospital. He was born on May 13, 1939 in Montour Falls, NY. Ezra and Alice McSwain Griffin had the honor to love and raise David and he affectionately referred to them as Mom and Pop.

A veteran of the US Navy, David served during the Cold War in the Mediterranean. He was of the Methodist faith. David married Virginia Dabros on September 5, 1992. Following his retirement for Corning, Inc. in 1995, Elmira, NY, he and Virginia moved from Elmira, NY to Little River, SC. They travelled all over the world including the beautiful islands of St. Maarten and St. Thomas. David enjoyed boating and flying kites, and photography. He also enjoyed Woodworking.

His wife Virginia, survives David along with his sons, Brion Scott Burrell, Timothy Karl Burrell, William Giblin,, Steven R. Giblin, Patricia Giblin Holley; and three grandchildren, Katelyn, Garrett and Brianna. His daughter, Beth Ann Burrell preceded David in death.
